Mount Mitchell State Park- Restaurant

It was great for a decent, quick meal while enjoying a scenic drive and some hiking in the beautiful outdoors.

.The service was slow but we weren't in a hurry. The waiting staff was apologetic.
The food was good.

Service was fast, waitress friendly and immediately corrected an undercooked chicken sandwich, the Rueben sandwich was perfect and generously filled. I expected smaller portions and inflated prices for a restaurant that has no competition, not so at this eatery!

Great location! Only restarant to eat for quite a few miles. But expensive for the quality of food. Cost us each $8.90 for a small garden salad & cup of not so good coffee. It took 5 minutes plus to check out because the guy didn't know how to add on a $3.50 tip to the bill. He finally got our waitress to do it who took the people behind me fitst because they were easy and were using a card. The good news is was the location and our waitress was pretty good. Oh by the way a trout lunch cost $18.95! You might opt out for a picnic at one of the nearby picnic grounds.

We just found this place recently. It's a great place to when visiting Mount Mitchell. Food was hot and yummy. Menu items include include hot and cold choices. The employees are very friendly and helpful.
