Some of the best food in oxford. Authentic feeling German experience that offers authentic German food as well as some more contemporary American options with a German twist. There is something for everyone. Service and prices are great.
Great Service and great meal. We really enjoyed the Sauerkraut Balls. The choices of real German Bier are great. For a cellar, this is a really warm and inviting space! Loved it. Definitely will return.
Great beer, great food. Got the Bourbon Apple chutney burger with a small spinach salad. Both were wonderful. Salad was very fresh and included artichokes. Sweet and Sour dressing came with the salad. Burger was cooked to order perfectly (medium rare). Chutney was a very enjoyable addition. The beer was wonderful, got one of the lagers. Selection is all German it German style, but a great variety of different styles. Will definitely be going back when in Oxford.
Food was delicious! The Prime Rib Sandwich was mouth watering. The beer was cold. They have a great selection of German style beers as well as plenty of wine to choose from. The service was great as well, friendly and helpful! Looks like a pub you might find when traveling Europe.
First, our waitress (Kelly I think) was awesome and very helpful, conversational, just cool person. The atmosphere is cool because going underground makes you fell apart of an elite group of German foodies. Very family friendly and warm with TVs and a vibe that says welcome to the Fatherland. The pretzel appetizer was a little over salted, but had a really nice crust? and a warm, dense middle. The cheese was definitely not the fake stuff and you could taste the slight acidity of beer. I had the Bacon Burger and boy is that beef bacon something else. Thick and full, that stuff should be on every American table. Everything else about the burger was pretty on par. As for the fries, these were something else. I love a well-fried anything and these certainly hit the spot. I left feeling much more round than when I stepped in.
