Crumb & Spigot- Lakewood

Vegans rejoice! What an incredible spot for happy hour or date night. I had been recommended their vegan meatballs thinking, how great can vegan meatballs be? The answer, heavenly! The vegan Caesar & two cocktails I had were also perfect! The bartender was truly talented. The two next to me had a sausage pizza & the first words out of their mouth “wow!” A place for everyone! Can’t recommend enough! Bonus points for having food network on. Love this place!

We went here for a date night dinner. It was very hit and miss. The menu composition was interesting, they have a couple pub options, some entree options, and an array of pizzas. The atmosphere was nice, it wasn’t too loud and the interior is pretty with wonderful mood lighting. The service was a bit slower than I would expect but not awful.

I ordered the spaghetti squash and sweet potato fries on the side. The spaghetti squash lacked sauce, I do not recommend getting it at all. The sweet potatoes fries were incredible, I would highly recommend getting them. My boyfriend got the Brat burger which comes with “potato salad” and slaw. The potato salad was just cold potatoes. The slaw was just raw cabbage. The burger though was again excellent and I would recommend the burger itself.

I’ve never experienced a dining experience where some things were so great and some were bad. Usually it’s either wonderful or mid. I wouldn’t discourage anyone from going here but I would definitely ask your server what’s menu items are good, since it seems there is not much consistency. In my opinion they really need to just add more sauce!!

The food is refreshing and great selections for vegetarian/vegan diets. The spaghetti squash was delicious and different.

Happy hour deal was great for the cocktails and pizza!! The cocktails could use a touch more oomph for their regular price point. There are a lot of house cocktails to choose from.

Great. Lots of vegan options. Could be more, but all the ones I’ve had are great. I love the warm olives and vegan meatball pizza most of all. Service was quick. We even asked for bread to dip in the remaining oil from the olives and I think it was free. Delicious. Amazing drinks too. I got Fifty Haircuts or something similar to that name.

As a long time patron of their Bainbridge spot, I was very excited when I heard the announcement of the Lakewood location, since I moved to Lakewood two years ago.
We ordered a couple rounds of drinks. They were good, but there is room for improvement. We ordered the strawberry salad, very delicious! And then we ordered my favorite pie, the Mortadella. It was good, but there's just something missing. The new place just seems to have something missing in the secret sauce. I do look forward to returning to see if they get things sorted out. Growing pains perhaps? 🤷‍♂️
Lastly, I hope they continue to work on the decor. We felt the place was too dark and the minimalistic design was just too cold and uninviting.
I truly wish them all the best. I so want this place to succeed. 🙂
