The Buxton inn is very old and historic. Our room was a nice mix of an older time with nice updated bathrooms. The restaurant was also very nice and the staff was very friendly. We will definitely stay there again.

The restaurant was disappointing. Our service was incredibly slow and quite inattentive. The food was flavorless and actually boring. The portions were ok, but the price is something a 4 or 5 star location should charge - not this restaurant. The bed was sagging in the center and was not conducive to a good night's sleep. And finally an open attic with a door up stairs slightly ajar....does not give you a feeling of Zen.

On a good note, the room was clean, and looked to be recently refurbished. The bathroom was nice and the staff were friendly of not necessarily helpful.

We have lived in Granville for several years and have always meant to have brunch at The Buxton Inn, and we finally did. The service was very nice and the Inn had a historic interior- you can imagine people arriving by horseback and eating meals by candlelight. Sadly, the food was quite bland. I almost think I could have cooked something better at home. We will return to try dinner sometime and hope it is much better.

The staff is very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The rooms, although historic, could use a bit of a refreshing. We stayed in room #7 in the main house, and it did not disappoint. I honestly didn't think we'd have any ghostly encounters because my husband and I never actually do. However, we didn't sleep a wink and it wasn't for good reasons. There is truly something going on. We asked to switch rooms the next morning because it was a little too "active" for us. We also enjoyed good drinks in the tavern and dinner at the restaurant. The icing was an impromptu tour we received by a friendly staff member. If you like ghosts and history, I recommend you check out the Buxton Inn.
