Wheat Penny Oven and Bar

This place was understaffed during the time we went. The Kettering college just had graduated so there was an influx of people. So we had to wait a bit for the server however our server was 5 stars easy. Brittany did such a great job of making sure we had what we needed as soon as possible. She went above and beyond. She saved our experience here.

We stopped here for brunch on our way to the Air Force museum. It was so good my husband joked that we will have to wake our kids up early every Saturday to drive up from Cincinnati. All the food was good but the Eggs in Hell was our favorite. Great vegetarian options!

This place is amazing! Just go here! I’ve never had the chance to meet her, but the owner/chef Elizabeth Wiley is amazing. You can tell every dish is made with high quality ingredients, hand crafted, taste tested and perfected before going on the menu. Ask the great wait staff for recommendations! They know each dish and drink well and give their honest opinions. Their recommendations have never disappointed. The wine, beer and cocktail menu is awesome. My favorite cocktail is “Smoke Em’ If You Got Em” – A tasty twist (with a show!) on a great bourbon whiskey. Call ahead reservations start at 3pm, bar and outdoor seating available. Small parking lot, but close street parking available. Usually fairly quick service. Come hungry.

Everything on the menu sounded appealing (even things I would never eat)! The food didn't disappoint! Six of us had different meals and all raved about each one. The eggplant fries appetizer were so surprisingly excellent. We had three different desserts that were amazing. The worst thing is knowing that we rarely have reason to be in Dayton to eat here again.

The service here is always exceptional. I frequent WP specifically for the eggplant fries with the yogurt sauce. They are my biggest weakness in life. These are a MUST TRY. Great places for lunch or dinner. 12/10 would recommend.
