“My wife and I visited this restaurant for the first time. I got the grilled salmon, which was perfectly cooked, with green beans and coleslaw as sides. The portions sizes were great. Especially the coleslaw, which was larger than I expected. My only complaint is that the green beans were not cooked as well as I like. In fact they were nearly raw. My wife got the fish tacos which were excellent. She chose the garlic mashed potatoes for her side which were also very good. We had water with lemon as our only beverage and felt slighted that it served in very small glasses and small carafe for refills. I get that a significant amount of the profit of restaurants today is derived through the beverage offerings, but I don't think it wise to ever make the customer feel out of place for their choices. Our waitress was very attentive and atmosphere was quiet, conducive to private conversation. The decor was brighter than I expected, but still warm and inviting. The manager stopped by to ask how things were going which is always a nice touch. Overall, a pleasant and satisfying experience.”

A bit expensive if you want to take them to share the bagels are a nice treat on occasion thought. They have other things like pastries and you can get bagel sandwiches.”

I feel the need to offer some advice to the other (clearly confused and very unfair) reviewers: 1) The alleged 4% credit card fee amounts to roughly $1 on a $30 bill - if you can't afford that, maybe you shouldn't be eating out? It also has never been added to my bill (even recently), so there's that. 2) Be sure you're reviewing the Samantha's you visited. The location on Portage is FAR superior to the one on Market, and the service is always very friendly and attentive at this one. 3) It's a great place to eat - OF COURSE it's going to be busy! Understand that going in, and don't go when you don't have the time to spend! 4) Folks who like bland breakfasts probably ought to go elsewhere. Samantha's consistently offers the most flavorful, creative, and just plain WONDERFUL morning meals in town. It's why they're so busy! :) Now, if they'd just make a tasty cup of coffee that's up to the superior standards of their entrees! (See also: ditch the bitter stuff you're brewing now!) Thanks!”

“Cultured Coffee and Waffles is a fun place to try. My friend really like the pecan chicken and waffles. The other choice we made was strawberry fields. Both were giant Belgian waffles which were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The specialty sauces on both were a bit skimpy but very good. The strawberries were super fresh and there was lots of whipped cream. The price of two waffle entrees and a small latte was $25. That seemed a bit pricey for a the funky small order-at-the-counter style food restaurant.”
