“We use to eat at L.J.S at least two if not three times a week when we were in our 30's. As we aged, we noticed that the food bust have been cooked in two gallons of oil. It got to the point that when we ate there, we did it knowing we would be taking it home. At home, we would take paper towel, pay all meat items to soak up as much oil as we could. I have soaked up two full sized paper towels with oil from two pieces of fish. We just got to the point that our systems just could not handle it anymore. We might, might go there once or twice a year.”

“Food was great, service was good. Prices were fair. I was surprised when I found this restaurant. I was traveling for work nearby and spotted it from the car. After finishing work for the day I stopped by for dinner before leaving town.. I ordered a Hibachi steak plate, that came with a bowl of soup and salad. The food came out quickly, was hot and had amazing flavor. The serving size was generous and well worth the price. The vegetables were great and cooked to perfection as was the steak. The soup and salad before the meal made the entire meal rather large resulting in me taking some of it to go which I finished later that night at the hotel. Everything about the visit was great. I would definitely return here when passing thru as it was impressive. I come from a town with a population of over a million, and we have very few Japanese places that come close to the quality of this place, especially for the price.”

“Supper here on 9/24/2020. Social distancing? No reservation so we left our phone number and were asked to wait outside until notified that a table was ready. Short 10-15 minutes wait. Entered dining room and staff were wearing masks. Day us in a booth with about 4 inches separating us from the couple in the next booth. No customers wearing masks. We ordered NY strip with added shrimp, baked potato and fried okra. We shared the steak and the sides. 2 unsweet iced teas. Approximately $23 for the entire meal. Steak ordered very well done with no pink. Steak came out medium well. Sent back to finish cooking. Staff returned the steak in about 5 minutes slightly warmer but still medium well. Complimentary rolls were the highlight of the meal. Met more friendly staff at an IRS audit. As we left two folks seated in the lobby waiting. No masks. Four adults entering the restaurant at the door. No masks. Why post a requirement for masks on the door of you just don't care.”

The small restaurant has only outdoor seating, but if the weather permits, it's wonderful. The menu has something for everyone and the loaded fries are incredible. “This was my first time at this location. I pass this location all the time heading towards the lake. The food was good. I thought the cobbler was box cobbler and went into the microwave. I think our waitress was just ok. I don't think I will return anytime soon. I ordered the meat loaf and it was bland and the sides tasted like they were heated in the microwave. When we were sitting for our lunch the microwave was being used a lot. I think If i wanna heat using the microwave i will eat at home.”
