“I have to say...when dinner rolls taste like heaven in your mouth as you chew on them it leaves you with nothing but wishing you live in this little town. Great atmosphere and their employees are very friendly. Food is amazing and their cocktail drinks are to die for. I can't wait to be back because this is definitely at first try.”

“Bailey is the best. Solid burger. Fries were the best I've had on my coast to coast bicycle trip”

“A good solid 4. Inviting menu and choices, sauces. Tasty but basically it's lamp heater food ready and waiting for you, needs a good stir before serving. It did serve hot and yummy, a mac n cheese about what you'd expect, yummy sweet corn, delish creamy-inside, crusty-outside potato wedges, nice mashed potatoes and two gravy choices, and good chicken-filled bites of breaded chicken (more chicken than breading). Worth it if you don't wanna hit the food chains down the street. Inside the chevron, good to-go setup, nice friendly quick service. No complaints, but not 5 stars maybe just cuz nothing is like blow your mind amazing? If I could, I'd give it 4.5! 😉 But quite satisfied and filled. Thanks!”

“My partner and I have passed by this place so many times, never seemed to work out to have the ability to stop here. Finally, things worked out and wow, we were not disappointed. The facility was clean, the showers had the most amazing water pressure, the temperature of the water was perfect, it was clean. All the staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was excellent! I'm going to be craving their breakfast every morning from now on, I don't have a single complaint except for the flies, that was the only issue I had. Its not very fun to be swatting and swinging at flies when you're trying to eat a meal or use the bathroom. I'm not sure how something like that could be improved, but that would be the only thing I would hope not to experience in the future, but it wouldn't stop me from stopping in if I get the opportunity to do so. I hope all my future visits will be as pleasant as my first time here.”

“Almost missed it, looks like 2 train cars together, pretty cool use of cars. If you like homemade sourdough this is your place. If you are not a fan of sourdough don’t order the pancakes. Good serving sizes and service. Omelets are really good. Breakfast all day.”

“Prices have gone up, even at Taco Time. But I have to say that here in Baker, Oregon they give you an amazing Soft Taco for the price. Their classic Soft Taco was huge and they don't scrimp on the meat! Plenty of fresh fillings and one of them filled me up. This Taco Time is the best! Update 2/23: still huge soft tacos!”

“03/31/2022 Regular full size cheesesteak $13. It was very bland tasting and meat was kinda dry. ☹️ Staff was friendly and there is a small bar inside.”

“This place is amazing. Dine on the balcony, it's right on the river. The food is top quality with reasonable pricing. Portions are large, staff is friendly, the view is incredible and the food is tasty. I travel a lot, this restaurant is easily in my top 10 places to go eat. Had lots of leftovers. Will be back. Might go out of my way to come back. Thai tea was also delicious.”

“A very cute, nice place! I had a great dinner here! The atmosphere was nice - they had cute saloon doors and very nice booths as well as a bar area. The menu had a lot of options, mostly American kind of foods. I tried one of the burgers and it was great! Fries were good, burger and sauce were good. Didn't have to wait too long for food and the service was great. The hostess and waitress were both super friendly. I really enjoyed this pub and would definitely go back! They also had homemade lemonade that was fantastic.”

“What an amazing surprise with this place. It certainly looked legit from other reviews, but I honestly didn’t know what was in store. Our server was really fantastic. She was very friendly and super personable. I ordered the Signature Burger and let me tell you. I would not even be lying if I said that it’s one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Medium cooked, super juicy, amazing flavor, and damn it if it just doesn’t look incredible! I would 100% recommend this sweet little spot. You will certainly not regret it.”

“Stopped in for a late lunch, the staff was kind and attentive. I ordered a tamale which was huge and had a great touch of spice (but wasn't close to too spicy for me). I also had the vegetarian fajitas with the homemade corn tortillas and they were some of the best fajitas I've ever had. Highly recommend this place if you're ever in town.”

“A wonderful lunch experience! Located on the corner of Main Street, this sandwich and ice cream shop is a lovely location with fantastic service. On a hot Monday afternoon in July, the ice cream line wrapped around the store. One hard-working and friendly young woman was helping every single customer with a smile, whether they wanted ice cream or a sandwich - I happened to enjoy both. She was careful to wash her hands after each transaction at the cash register and did an excellent job catering to each adult and child in the shop. 10/10 experience!”

“While on my 9000 mile Mega Transect across America, I made an unscheduled stop in Baker City for exploring and decided to have lunch at Main Event. This establishment turned out to be a highlight of my trip. The staff and clientele were awesome. The food was way better than I expected. Absolutely delicious. The 2 beers I had were very cold like I prefer. Do yourself a favor and stop by.”

“A nice quiet place to eat with good food. This was the best wonton soup I’ve ever had with delicious broth, veggies and wontons. The lo mein was also very good and had lots of veggies. We’ll come back next time we’re in town (the food was better than the fusion place down the street).”

“Came here for dinner last night craving some good Mexican food, and we were beyond impressed! Both my parents are Texas born & raised and I spent some time there myself, so after moving to Portland a couple years ago I’ve been often disappointed with what I find. This place was a stop on our road trip back home and I can honestly say this is certainly the best Mexican food I’ve had in Oregon, and some of the best Mexican food I’ve had ever! I got the anchor wrap, which is the Taco Bell Crunchwrap supreme but elevated to the extreme. I got the shredded beef and it was delicious! My partner got three pork tacos, which, like other reviews have mentioned, was very juicy and great value for the price. We both loved our food and will certainly be back whenever we cross through again. The woman behind the counter who helped us was also very kind, helpful, and patient — even though we were the only guests and it was an hour before close, she was so sweet and gave us great service. Awesome taco place! Definitely recommend, especially for anyone like me who loves Mexican food and is used to authentic or Tex Mex.”

“Sept 2022 We were passing through Baker City and decided to get some carry out from here. The lady who took our order was friendly and efficient. The place itself was clean and a little bit busy. It seems to be a popular place and they have seating outside if you choose to bring your dog. The Creamy Pesto Pasta was very good, the pesto fresh and the chicken delicious. We got the Classic Burger with bison meat, which, while good, was VERY lean. I would recommend putting some sauce on the burger to add flavor if you choose the bison meat. The sweet potato fries were a bit too salty, and it was difficult to taste the actual sweet potato under all the salt. All in all, a pretty decent place. May come again.”

“We stopped in here for dinner tonight the food was very good and tasty. The white staff is friendly and was able to get our food to us and everything we needed in a quick manner. They were very nice the restaurant is clean and comfortable. Definitely a place to eat when in Baker city”

“One thing I really dislike about this DQ is that they put the ketchup packets and fry sauce right on top of your food in the boxes. I feel they should be put in the bag or in a smaller bag if they're only handing you boxes, it's very unsanitary... Customer service is usually always subpar and for as much money as I spend there when I'm feeding my family you would think it'd be a little bit better.”

“03/30/2022 I ordered two slices $4.25 each of pepperoni pizza. They were huge! The crust is absolutely delicious. There is local beer and wine available. The staff were so pleasant to chat with. I enjoyed my pizza so much I came back a couple days later for another slice!”

“We are visiting from out of town and this sounded like a good option since we were too tired for a sit down restaurant and didn't really want fast food. It was a busy Friday, but the wait wasn't too bad and the time I did wait was definitely worth it. I recommend calling ahead to pick up. Burger joints like this are my absolute favorite and are far and few between. What a hidden gem! Or maybe not so hidden if you're a local. I also was happy to have curly fries for the first time in years. And if you're on the fence about adding an egg to your burger, just go for it. This is definitely top of my list for places to try again when I'm in town next.”

“If you’re driving through Baker, Oregon and looking for a good meal, consider checking out Eagle Cap Grill, a family owned restaurant that is a local favorite. It’s a little off the main drag, so I didn’t know it existed until I googled restaurants in Baker and it came up as an option. The night I visited, the restaurant was pretty busy including several large groups who seemed to be celebrating special occasions. Even so, my service was excellent and I didn’t have too long of a wait for my food. I ordered a classic half pound cheeseburger with french fries. It was excellent! I like that this restaurant makes a point to serve high quality beef. I’ll be back!”

“Oh my goodness! Huge portions on the breakfast menu—we had it for dinner. I had the Country Scramble. Two eggs, hash browns, a sausage patty, and a biscuit, all smothered with cream gravy. I had them top it with shredded cheese. Yummy! Mt husband got the hamburger steak with two eggs & hash browns. He said it was delicious too. The best part was my chocolate shake! Made with real ice cream. Definitely a great place to eat.”

“Crystal our waitress was hilarious and very welcoming. The breakfast burrito was delicious. Maybe add a little more sausage in the gravy but the coffee was fresh and delicious. A true local hangout, welcoming strangers, even Mr. And Mrs. Denver. 😉”
