Omg! This establishment is very well managed. Atmosphere is very nice and clean. Ant the fried noodles speak for itself. The kitchen is open and right there yet I smell no smoke ot anything. They must have a state of the art ventilation system. The waitress there is also very nice. I will go here once a week, to treat myself and my friends to dining at its finest. Someone took me there and i was greatful they did. Ashland has so many great restaurants 🤗🙏🏻
This place deserves a Michelin star. The quality of the food is outstanding. I've spent a lot of time in Indonesia and I can confidently say that this food is better then the best food I've had in Indonesia while preserving 100% of the authenticity. The Chef travels to Indonesia to select the spices in person. His recipes encompass many different parts of the archipelago. Each item on the menu is a trip in itself. I wish I could articulate perfection, but nothing will compare to the experience of dining in and trying it yourself. Thank you Chef!
Just re-opened their dining room. I had never had Indonesian before but let me say: Absolutely amazing food... like unbelievably good. The Chef takes pride in his work and each and every dish is prepared fresh and individually. While this does mean a more leisurely dining - don't expect to be in and out in 30 mins, especially during the take-out rush - the food is absolutely worth the wait. Our server told us the Chef makes regular trips to Indonesia to hand-pick chile peppers for the various dishes he prepares and I believe it. Just addictively good.
This is absolutely unique cuisine in the area and I hope they're around a long time.
The food here is impeccable—please look that adjective up because I’m not just saying it’s good or even great.
On top of the amazingly high quality of authentic Indonesian food, the staff here is amazing. It’s wonderful to see so many long standing locals work here to make this food experience unforgettable in both service and fare.
Try the rendang or Ayam bakar for delicious slow cooked, spiced meats and delicious lemon grass turmeric rice, and for curry you cannot go wrong with opor or gulai
Honestly everything here is amazing, those recommendations are just my favorites.
I give a lot of bad reviews and a few good ones, and this place deserves all the praise I give it; don’t believe me, just try it yourself.
Blue Toba is authentic and filled with love. This new space, relocated from the original southern Ashland location is beautiful and much larger. Newly “softly-open” as of August 16th, 2022, Blue Toba Downtown is working out some growing pains that necessarily come with a huge change in setting and demand. With some patience, you will receive the most delicious Indonesian food lovingly crafted by Chef B himself. Prices have gone up as is expected and necessary for a downtown restaurant. The owners and staff are obviously working as best they can and I can see that Blue Toba Downtown will soon be refined into the one-of-a-kind Indonesian experience for which they’re striving.
