“Usually my favorite restaurant, but wasn't tonight. Their food is always delicious, but tonight was disappointing. We had 4 orders of the same thing. Chicken teriyaki combination with no shrimp. Got shrimp on all of them and hardly any veggies!! 3 vegetable to be exact and 3 shrimp. And the portions of chicken as you can see is tiny compare to what we we would usually get. The lady even repeated the order back to us correctly but it still came wrong. Still support matsukazes, but I/we were looking forward to the normal sized meal with vegetable tempura we requested.”

“Nice place, even has a drive through. It's fairly large for a subway, with a good sized dining room. Food was well made and service was good with nice staff. Only the tomatoes didn't look too well, but I generally don't like the look of tomatoes at these kinds of food joints sadly. I'm picky about my tomatoes, ^^. Overall still good”

“Wonderful for our party! We had Big O Spuds for our party to celebrate that we had eloped. They were so wonderful to work with, great prices for events, so many options for food, and the friendliest people! They even have a little truck that we were able to have slushies served out of, which was a big hit since it was summertime. Our guests are still taking about how much fun it was to have a food truck and how good the food was. We've even been asked to have another party, just for that!”

“Stayed here end of April 2022 on our Anniversary trip. It was definitely an historic inn with a lot of personality and charm. My grandmother had a house in South Carolina that was built in the late 1890s, so this place reminded me a lot of her house. They have some rooms set up for viewing old photos and paraphernalia from the late 1880s and a typical "Jack London" room decorated as it would be at the turn of the century. There is also a section dedicated to the local "ghost town" of Golden which existed during the mining years starting in 1881. It is worthwhile to take a walk around the hotel and read the articles on the wall to get an appreciation of the history of the Inn. The room we had #8 was pleasant and the bed was comfortable. The water handles in the bathroom sink were a little bit hard to turn off, but other than that, no complaints. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was great! The pulled pork and beef brisket were both very tasty, as well as the chocolate mint brownie. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful. The old cash register was very cool and worth a picture. It had buttons for pint, 1/2 pint, and quart, as well as buttons for different dollars and cents amounts. There are not many rooms available for stay, so if you are on the fence, book now as it may not be available when you check back.”
