Service was impeccable here. We got plenty of refills on the drinks, waitresses were very patient with our long list of orders, and providing fresh plates and silverware for each round of our dishes. Strawberry lemonade was a great pairing with all the seafood, sweet and tart.
Dishes were fantastic. Oysters were extremely fresh, and were perfect. We ended up coming here 2 nights in a row. Must get the crab cakes. Those things are the best crab cakes I’ve had. Chocolate avocado mousse dessert was a pleasant surprise. Would recommend. Scallops were on point. A dish we got came with some asparagus, and it was the best damn asparagus I’ve eaten in my life. Would come back to Newport for that alone.
Gorgeous food, which can be difficult to find on the Oregon Coast. This is not your typical seafood joint. This is truly a special restaurant, which deserves to be distinguished in Oregon. We ordered the Cod skewer salad, the Fishwives' Stew, and the candied orange/espresso flan. Everything we had was cooked to perfection and mouthwatering. Even just a few bites into the salad, I knew I had found my new favorite restaurant. We were celebrating my birthday, and the staff were so friendly and accommodating it makes me want to come back every year for my birthday. A home run restaurant!
A solid 4.3 yet not a full 5.0. The salmon was fresh, for sure, although two of the entrees were cooked medium instead of the menu description and request to have it medium rare. The sauce over the noodles was a little to much in quantity, drowning out the bowl as you worked your way down. The pepper and cheese as a base bed for the salmon was a tasty twist. The chowder was decent if not a bit to heavy on the flour, much more and it would make a paste. The service was impeccable. Overall, I would give them a whirl again. And for a second time…even better. We had the halibut and asked for lite on the sauce, delicious. The steamers are outstanding and the rockfish Italian hit the spot. All 5 stars tonight.
Yeah, this place is next level good. The location, atmosphere, service, and food all exceeded our expectations. The halibut was the best I have ever had, it's been a week and I'm still thinking about it. Top notch service from start to finish is what you can expect from the staff. Everyone was very attentive and friendly, they really take care of their customers. If you want a meal to remember on the Oregon coast, this is the place for you!
Can’t miss this during your stay in Newport if you at all enjoy seafood. We walked in as a party of two and were immediately offered the choice of seating at the bar or at the chef’s “table” overlooking the kitchen -
we chose the latter and had a great time.
We came for fresh local seafood and Local Ocean delivered everything we hoped for and more. Great cocktails, wine list and service, too. It was fun to walk along the bay, see the fishing boats, and read about the industry just outside the restaurant after eating too much.
