The Original Pancake House

1st time to this establishment. I ordered my usual ham and eggs, hash browns wheat toast. Although my order came out remarkably fast there was just no flavor to the breakfast. My hash browns tasted like chalk.
On top of that they don't take American Express.
I probably won't return.

We have visited the last 3 weeks at the south location on Commercial. I have sampled French crepes, blueberry waffle and last week - Swedish pancakes. The latter was a first time experience and it was terrific. Three large, thin pancakes with a lingonberry covering. It was a very special treat. The staff is very helpful and friendly and eating there is a pleasure. The setting is great with a fire in the fireplace. It does get crowded later on Sunday morning.

Great Food, we had an excellent waitress. Food came out fast. Good old school breakfast feel. Highly Recommend.

Great tasting food and friendly service. A large variety of pancakes and griddle-top favorites. My only complaint is the prices can be a little steep - just paid $14 for four bacon pancakes and two scrambled eggs. But then again, bacon pancakes...

Exceptionally good breakfast and excellent service. This is a Salem institution, and for good reason. Consistently great food and consistently excellent service. I honestly don't think I've ever had a bad meal here, and I've been many many times. I had the mushroom Omelette and it was outstanding. It came with buttermilk pancakes and I had them topped with seasonal fresh strawberries. YUM!
