Good food, vast menu, affordable, in a good spot and looks like nice ambience inside though I’ve only gotten takeout so far

Great place for a beer and fried chicken. Lots of options for apps as well. Everything has been good so far and you'll enjoy if you're looking for feel good bar food.

This was my first experience with Korean food and my taste buds were blown away. I had three different types of wings and each one had it’s own unique taste which could please any craving. My personal favorite was the Yangnyum. Which was essentially a sweet heat sauce topped with sesame seeds. The sauce to chicken meat ratio was perfect that you won’t find at any other fried chicken restaurant around Portland. The sauce can be sticky, but the restaurant provides wet naps to keep your hands clean as you shift between flavors.
The overall ambient of the restaurant is great for any occasion. Whether it’s a night out with your friends or a date night. The servers were very friendly and the gentlemen who appeared to be the owner was very polite and attentive.
I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

When it comes to going out, I'm SUPER picky with my food. Especially chicken... but every dish I ordered was cooked to perfection and I literally stuffed myself until I couldn't breathe anymore. Chimaek Town is located on NW 23rd and Thurman and is hands down, one of the best Korean restaurant in the Portland Area.

    * The Fried Chicken Wings were crispy on the outside and soooo moist in the inside. I thought the batter was perfect. Not too much, not too little. I tried all of the flavors and the ones I liked the most were the Yangnyum and Soy Garlic. The other flavors were yummy too, but these were just my fav. The Fried Chicken Wings are served with korean-style picked radish which you must eat the chicken with. Koreans don't do chi-maek (chicken and beer) without their radish lmao.
    * Spicy Rice Cake Pot (Tteokbokki) was yummy! There are so many different ways to cook tteokbokki. Some have a lot of sauce, almost like broth, and some cook the sauce up until it's like... thick and glazed over the rice cake. This was def on the side with more broth, which was super good, no complaints!
    * Korean Army Stew (Budae Jjigae) was surprisingly good too and exceeded my expectations. I usually don't order this dish at restaurants because it always end up being so salty, but this one was honestly super duper good.
    * Their Rice Cake Skewers are to die for. It reminded me of the ones I used to eat back in Korea as a kid! YUM

I will definitely come back and and try other dishes. I'm also happy that there is finally a Korean restaurant in Downtown Portland, NOT Beaverton. It was such a hassle to drive to Beaverton for just Korean food. The service is fast and the man and woman who seem to be the owners were super nice and friendly too. If you are reading this review, don't hesitate and just go try their food!

I’ve been looking for a good authentic Korean restaurant and I found it! The Korean deep fried chicken with yang yum sauce is so delicious, they also serve these old fashioned french fries and onion rings that were cooked to perfection. Can’t wait for the beer selection to expand soon as well.
