Horse Brass Pub

So much yummy food on the menu I didnt know what to order. I got the fish and chips and was not disappointed! Will definitely need to come back and try the other foods!

Not much to add to an institution like Horse Brass and its unrelenting accolades. Still yellowed from decades of cigarettes, the menus are in tatters, and it's a bit dim and divey looking. It also has the best beer list in Portland, pints are laughably inexpensive, and there are always several casks, as befits the English pub style of the place.

Service is unfailingly polite and friendly. The generally British dining selections will be familiar to virtually everyone, and again, not expensive. Where else would you get a Bridie or pasty or shepherd's pie, or any of a number of other quintessentially pub-grub offerings alongside a freshly pulled pint of bitter? Of course more American fare is also offered, and that which we ate was very good, and actually seasoned, go figure. There's a couple dartboards in the back, and the bathrooms are about as dingy as one would expect. Plenty of parking, long hours. Just a great overall experience I enjoy returning to on every Portland visit.

I love British (British style) pubs. This place has a great feel to it. Tasty beverages. Great food. A very fine establishment in those respects. Would return to imbibe some more. And again. And again.

My fav place to play darts. Best fish ' chips in town. Great place for scotch egg and bangers and mash.

Not our regular place, yet whenever we come here we always say we should come back more often. Food is awesome, beers are better, and service is excellent. We will see you again soon!
