McCormick & Schmick's Harborside at the Marina

The restaurant is divided into two parts. I went to the left side which is more relaxed and has the bar. My first time in Portland, so I was a bit disappointed that the seafood menu was dominated by Eastern fare... NE clam chowder, Maine lobster, etc. I'm sure the Mexico-sourced octopus would have been fine, but at that point, and given the early afternoon hour, I opted for a delicious local beer coupled with tasty truffle fries and went on walking down the river. Good quick stop on a walk but don't expect a unique local dining experience.

Absolutely fabulous! Tremendous service! Didn't care for the veggies... Under cooked and the sauce was bland. But the steak and lobster was cooked to perfection. Lovely house cabernet. Creme brulee was delightful. Would be 5 stars except for the veggies. Totally recommend and will definitely return.

Updated XMas Eve 2019 - the portions this year are no where near last years or previous years portions. On the big plate the food was served on, it looked like enough food to feed a child or small adult. I was very disappointed in the food and dining experience this year. I’m reducing my review to 3 stars.

An Elegant yet casual dining experience

We have been going here for years as a Xmas eve tradition. The place has a great atmosphere, and when you’re near a window, you get the added bonus of a river and urban view. The food is always very good, and the wait staff is attentive and efficient. The seafood platter is to die for.

Avoid the public parking garages nearby or get back early, they ticket the moment your time is up. Asked for my check 15 minutes prior and had to request it again 20 min later. Enjoyed their food, but be diligent with the parking or be ready to spend another $58.
