JaxDog Café & Books

Address: 1305 Adams Ave, La Grande, OR 97850, USA

Restaurant

“We stumbled upon this place after seeing it shared the name with our Doggo! Such an awesome little place! Loved the quiet and serene bookstore/cafe vibe and the food was amazing! They had a cardamom roll (cinnamon roll with cardamom) that was out of this world! We ended up getting a second one to go for a snack later! We had a house salad, and their entree with soup. All of which was so fresh and full of flavor! We enjoyed ourselves and the food so much I forgot to snap pix before we finished them, hahaha! Next time we are on this side of the state we are definitely planning on coming back!”

Long Branch

Address: 208 Depot St, La Grande, OR 97850, USA

Restaurant

“Unassuming in all the best ways. Cute local pub/restaurant where the focus is on AMAZING food! Very clean and the service was friendly and prompt. Their mismatched country coffee mugs add a warm and cozy vibe. We were two people from Eugene/Corvallis area who ordered four plates...the long branch breakfast, corned beef hash, biscuits and gravy, and one hot cake. Everything was outstanding!!! Best corned beef hash ever! Biscuits and gravy was very flavorful, sausage was hand flavored and mapley, and hotcake was the perfect combo of light and fluffy, and not too sweet so it paired well with their quality maple syrup. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back!”

“This place is great, more drinks than you can taste! They update their selection pretty often as well. But the best thing I think is the Reuben pizza, it is so good!! Also the side room still has bar games! If only they kept the local breweries Oregon Fog on tap, I would never leave.”

Thai Fresh Gardens

Address: 1101 Washington Ave, La Grande, OR 97850, USA

Restaurant

“WHEN AN UNEXPECTED FIND TURNS INTO A PLEASANT SURPRISE. This review is based solely on my experience and personal opinion. I went to the Thai Fresh Gardens restaurant on a Thursday Night, 12/2/21, and it was my very first time. PLACE: That night I was very tired and sleepy but yet I forced myself to go out and find a nice place to eat. I eventually decided to join my friends and go explore La Grande on a very cold night. We parked our car and started walking and while strolling around we spotted the unusual golden elephant statues standing in front of a building entrance. We decided to get in and follow the signs to this Thai Fresh Gardens we had just seen on the entrance glass door. We went down the stairs and all of a sudden it was like we had just stepped into a different world... a world of its own... a sort of underground world, welcomed by a fountain and a narrow path going all around a elf-like village. on the sides of the path many display windows, many doors and many pretty decoration. I felt like I was walking around a Christmas village.... such a pleasant feeling. At some point, along the path, you can see a big open room with a long table and fabric Art frames.... then medieval style windows and then a Caribbean tree with colorful parrots and pretty birds. We had just found the Thai Fresh Gardens restaurant.....what a pleasant surprise. FOOD: We ordered Thai Fresh Gardens Fresh rice, Yellow Curry, Crispy Chicken Pad Thai, Thai Vegetable Egg Roll, Broccoli and Meat and Tom Yam Soup. All of our meals were tasty and well prepared. I loved the fresh ingredients and the combination of sweet and bitter. I tried each and every of our orders and my favorite was the Thai fresh gardens fried rice, and in second place the Thai Vegetable Egg Roll with Tofu. I did really enjoy them. Just remember, this is no fast food restaurant, so you have to wait for them too prepare and cook your food, regardless of what you order. CLEANLINESS: The overall cleanliness was very good and they would come and clean the table as soon as the customers left. STAFF: The young girl who served us was nice and helpful, friendly I would say. She took photos of us, She explained the Menu for us and did her best to meet our needs. Very customer oriented person. Less friendly and customer oriented was her mother, who, in all truth, could not understand English very well. PRICES: not as cheap as you would expect from a restaurant in La Grande OR, but it's the only Ethnic food restaurant in town, also portions are big and flavors are there, so, it is worth the money. CONCLUSIONS: I genuinely enjoyed it and I would definitely go back again. very positive customer experience and a very good vibe.”

Nature's Pantry

Address: 1907 Fourth St, La Grande, OR 97850, USA

Restaurant

“I have shopped at Nature's Pantry for years but just recently started ordering from their juice and salad bar. Their wraps and salads are delcious. My new favorite lunch spot! The staff are nice, respectful, and very knowledgable.”

Mamacita's International Grill

Address: 2003 Fourth St, La Grande, OR 97850, USA

Restaurant

“The GREEN GODDESS dressing here is the best!! I stop here every time I'm in town and get a lunch chicken wrap with extra green goddess dressing on the side and a side salad with green goddess dressing! Definitely recommend it more for lunch than dinner, as the wraps are not served at dinner time and the pasta dinner options are not my favorite. But definitely go for lunch!! The staff is very friendly as well and they have a fairly large outdoor seating area.”

Market Place Fresh Foods

Address: 1912 Fourth St, La Grande, OR 97850, USA

Restaurant

“Absolutely love going to the Market place! The fries are to die for and can’t go wrong with a cheeseburger from here either! Personally, I love the ciders they have on tap so that’s a plus! A big upside to this place is the rooftop. You can eat outside up on the roof with others and typically not too many people are up there so it’s a nice breeze to cool you down on a hot day and to just relax and eat your delicious food!”

Houghts 24 Flavors

Address: 602 Adams Ave, La Grande, OR 97850, USA

Restaurant

“Why visit fast food spots when your meal can make memories! A charming traditional 50s style diner with great hospitality to match. We stopped in for dinner on a road trip and it was brilliant, far out shining any mainstream fast food alternatives.”
