“This is the first bar I visited in Portland and it did not disappoint. This is one of those locations that is treasured by locals and has a great down to earth feel. There was only one bartender, waitress, and cook. They were working extremely hard but you should be patient to get whatever you order. This place has plenty of TVs to watch sporting events. The bartender is great at making drinks. The fried chicken is great. I hear that they roast the chicken and then fry it. It tastes amazing. The spuds with dill sauce is great. Order More Dill Sauce! I tried the waffles here. The waffles were decent but not warm enough to melt the whipped butter. Pitcher of beer was a decent price. They have some good cocktails and nice deals throughout the week.”

“This venue is in the middle of a strip mall. Plenty of parking. They recently remodeled the inside. Place can only hold about 20 people. Drinks are outstanding. They take great pride in perfecting their flavors. All flavors and combinations are not on the menu but they allow some level of customization. The muffins are the absolute best. Be sure to grab a couple of muffins! The popcorn chicken is a huge hit. Dark meat so it is moist and chewier than you would expect but very good.”

“It’s a below average place to eat. Service was slow. This isn’t an Olive Garden or a Red Lobster so I don’t know why you’d come here and wait for an hour to start eating. And it wasn’t even busy to begin with. Honestly they seemed short staffed especially on a late Sunday morning/early afternoon which is a prime time. Which is why I am a little forgiving for the three stars. I never received utensils to eat my meal. Was never offered a refill on my beverage. The wrong order was given to us initially. But once we got our food it was delicious. They’re better than any Village Inn I’ve eaten at.”
