I love their chili. True Texas style chili that I rarely have seen this far north made with smoked brisket. It has a substantial kick, which i love too.
This was our first time at Route 8 BBQ but it won't be our last. The food was excellent and the service was good, however, parking is limited. We pulled into the last spot in the lot but there were plenty of tables available inside.
Anyway, back to the food. My wife and I both had the 3 choice combo and chose pulled pork, brisket and ribs. I tried all 6 sauces on the table and had trouble picking a favorite. The meat was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this restaurant. And make sure you order the corn on the cob. It's excellent!
Lovely place on route 8. It has a great mixture of grilled and smoked meats. Everything is cooked to perfection. It’s tender and falls off the bone. I would say try it, it’s not for everyone but if you like gourmet southern kitchen you will like this place as well.
We really liked Rt. 8 barbecue! Had burnt ends, brisket & some of the best ribs ever! Loved the sauces - for our take out box, our waitress gave us small containers of each sauce which was a really nice touch! Great service! Looking forward to going back - especially for Happy Hour!
I'd been here back what it was Spadafora's and was not impressed. I really wondered if this place could be any good as well given the space is so small and, well, blah. It was much better than expected.
The food was all very good. I saw many complaints about the brisket being dry but two in my party got brisket and it was very tender. The portions are very generous and the quality was excellent. I had baked beans and collard greens for my sides and liked both. I could have easily made two meals out of what I got.
And the atmosphere, while still a bit cramped and loud, suits the restaurant much better. I think they could easily move to a larger location and fill the place out.
Only complaint is that they have a small draft selection, but with all drafts $3 - including craft beers - during happy hour I wasn't complaining.
