The food was spectacular! The staff members were very accommodating and pleasant as well. I highly recommend dining at Jean Louis!
This is by far my favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh! My wife and I recently moved from Washington, DC, and Tampa, FL by great bars and restaurants, and genuinely, this may be my favorite. The first time, I had great drinks, the French onion soup, and the lamb. All of it was incredible, and that’s the best French onion soup I’ve ever had. I just went today for Father’s Day brunch and had more great drinks, the escargot, mussels, and pappardelle and wild boar ragout. Both times I also had the white asparagus. Each dish was perfect, and we had a great experience talking with everyone. I can’t say enough good things about the chef, the food, and everyone who works there. We look forward to coming back for years to come!
Amazing food with a nice ambiance. The cocktails are also very good. I personally have always had great service here. They often have specials which are off the menu, so make sure to ask. It can get very busy, so I do recommend making a reservation if you plan to go on a Friday or Saturday evening. Try it out! I'm sure you'll find something you'll love
Exquisite food, wonderful atmosphere, a friendly staff...what more could you ask for??? This restaurant features a wonderful, healthy, cost-conscious menu, with many gluten free and vegan options clearly marked, front and center. The presentation of the dining ware wasn't fully true to a traditional, formal place setting (bread plate goes on the left!) but the silverware was interestingly shaped, everything tasted superb, and I had a wonderful time engaging with the staff. Would absolutely come back and have another go, loved it.
I live right around the corner from this place and have been there a couple of times now. The food is good. The cocktails are handmade and delicious. It's really, really convenient for us to walk up really quickly and grab something. It can be a bit pricey so be prepared for that. Especially if you're going to have drinks with dinner.
