The food here is fantastic. I could not recommend more highly. A few of the tables, you even get a view from the balcony. They are also very vegan friendly. The atmosphere is nice as well.

Enjoyed Kiin's decor and atmosphere. The service was very friendly and the food was fresh. Their spice scale is a bit unusual, though, and I'd recommend starting with "mild" (a 4 at Kiin) if you're not sure; you can always add more heat if needed. Their noodle and rice dishes are not quite as flavorful as some of the other local Thai restaurants, but I'll be back eventually to try their Lao dishes.

This was my first time here since the closing of Bangkok Balcony- which was a common place my friends and I visited on Friday and Saturday nights. I was blown away with the updates to the interior that were done. The paintings on the walls are beautiful and really make you feel like you aren’t in Pittsburgh anymore. We tried the brussel sprout appetizer which was absolutely amazing!!! I got the pineapple chicken curry and could immediately tell a major difference in taste of the curry which had more flavor that many other curry dishes I have tasted before. The spice was just right for me (I chose a 2) and there was plenty of chicken, pineapple, and peas. The service was fantastic and everyone was very friendly from the moment we walked in the door until we left. I will definitely be frequenting Kiin and highly recommend trying out if you’ve never been! Good job everyone at Kiin and thank you for great food!

I loved this place when it was Bangkok Balcony, so I was eager to try Kiin. Immediately upon entering the restaurant, I was thoroughly impressed. The place was packed for a Saturday night, but we were efficiently seated near the window overlooking the street. The decorations in this place are beautiful--it really makes you feel like you're in a street market in Southeast Asia. The whole restaurant has a lively, bustling atmosphere.

Our server was very nice and promptly took our orders. She also had recommendations for us, since neither of us had had Laotian food before. We ordered a sausage appetizer, a chicken satay main, and a curry main. The sausage appetizer and chicken satay was packed with flavor. The curry main was a nice, light, refreshing course--perfect for a cold, winter night. The sticky rice that came with the two mains was perfectly cooked. Our dessert--a pudding/sticky rice dish--was excellent.

Also, I'd just like to mention that the food here is extremely affordable for such a high caliber. We ended up paying about $20 each--this type of restaurant in NYC (where I'm from) would run up to $50-$60 easy for the amount of food we got.

Overall, I'm extremely pleased with our experience at Kiin. This is truly a gem in Pittsburgh, and I'm so happy to see it flourishing. Would definitely, without a doubt, eat here again.

They are currently in their soft opening, and so are definitely still working out the kinks in their service.
The food is excellent. Family style is the way to go (and the default option)! The Mok Fish was particularly excellent -- flavorful fish steamed in banana leaves. The papaya salad was perfectly spiced.
Definitely will come back again! Recommend bringing a group of friends to share dishes.
Also, the decor is a definite upgrade from the prior iteration. Super cool space.
