This was my first time having northeastern style Chinese food. I had the cumin lamb and the pork and cabbage dumplings. The lamb was tender with juicy fat, and dish had tasty spices and heat. The dumplings have a distinct cabbage taste, and you can add chili oil and soy sauce to your preference. The wait staff were attentive and will help you with the menu. I'll definitely be back
Decent northeastern-style Chinese restaurant. Their braised while fish is awesome. Price is a bit on the upside.
Absolutely wonderful Chinese restaurant. My mother and brother ate dinner here on 8-10-19. My pork kidneys, liver, stomach, and intestines were cooked so tender with a great taste. Our mung bean salad with sesame sauce was a delightful cold dish. In the past, I ordered stewed cutlassfish that had a sauce enough to die for! If you want authentic Chinese food, please try Northeast Kitchen. Please God, don't close or start taking items off your fabulous menu. What an honor and a treat! Best wishes to the Northeast Kitchen staff.
In my top handful of favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh. The food I've had there has all been wholesome and delicious, the service is pretty good, and it's overall not something I would expect to find in Pittsburgh (Northeast Chinese cuisine is a bit of a niche). I'm glad that they're doing well, and I'd really recommend people go there: I think that a lot of the dishes they have (like the sauerkraut dumplings and hot pot soups) would still be very enjoyable for people who don't have much experience with East Asian food. My favorite is the Spicy Fried Beef Tripe, followed by the Boiled Beef in Hot Chili. The prices are very reasonable for the portions and quality of food that you get. I'd recommend going there with friends since some of the dishes can be pretty big and are good for sharing. I like going with a friend and getting one entree and then one order of dumplings. Add an extra bowl of rice, and you have a pretty filling dinner for two.
Very nice place. Great selection of dishes. Lots to eat!
