The Library

We went after 10 pm when all of the small plates were half off. The food, especially the goat cheese stuffed poblano peppers, was amazing! On top of that, they had a nice craft beer selection that was extremely affordable. Lastly, our server Izzy was fantastic and super helpful!

Interesting themed bar. I really wanted to love it because I think anything book related is good for the general public. More easing = smarter people right? Any way, I got the Catch-22 and a berry mule type thing. The mule was great, refreshing, light. Everything you could want in a drink like that. Nothing was too pronounced, great zing from the fresh lime and hints of berry. Overall great pairing to anything heavy. The Catch 22 was a calzone type thing. I got buffalo chicken in mine and it was a great choice. Crispy dough, nice moist chicken in a mild buffalo sauce and stretchy mozzarella. The fries were amazing!!!! So crispy and golden brown. Literally perfect fries. I was just a little disappointed because the “sandwich” was really doughy and I’d wished it was more meat, less dough. Great place though!

I don't go out very often because I don't like loud crowded spaces. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into the library and it wasn't crowded or loud. It was a great, calm place to sit, chat, get a drink, play some pool, and enjoy the company of your group. It's also pretty cool that they have weird happy hour specials later into the night than most places.

Hands down one of the best bars in Pittsburgh. They've got really great food. The beer selection is typically 8-10+ on tap. The happy hour and weekly specials are well worth it if you want to try out their appetizers or pizza. On top of all this, the atmosphere isn't too chaotic even on the most busy of days. Also the hammered copper plated bar is pretty cool.

The Library is one of the best bars on E. Carson St! The service is always good, they have a nice rotating draft list. Happy hour specials are good. The food here is pretty good too. Decent pub fair and pizzas.
