Cute Cafe style place with a lot of takeout options. We ate in, brought our own wine and were pleasantly surprised at the absolutely amazing food!. From authentic Gnocchi with a spicy sausage sauce to overstuffed hand made ravioli and a perfect Alfredo, this little bistro does not leave you hungry!. We started the meal with crispy Brussel sprouts and a tasty dipping aioli. if you're looking for a relaxed atmosphere, and authentic fresh Italian food at a reasonable price, this should be your go-to in Sewickly. We were so full, that we didn't even get to try the cannoli! ahhh, but we need to leave something for our next visit!
Nice little place, but girl at the counter was very unfriendly. I asked her how long to cook the fresh pasta and it was as if I was bothering her. Wedding soup was so-so. The vegetables were still very raw , very little noodles and large pieces of greens made it hard to eat. Overall not super unimpressive. Not sure I will return.
their pesto is the best-o! brought it home + whipped up with a blob of their linguine (plus spinach garlic + shrimp).
Delicious fresh made raviolis. Stopped to get some for Easter. They had a cheese, meat as well as a pea and lemon ricotta ravioli available at the time. They rotate speciality ravioli flavors. Also had pierogies, cannolis and lots of fresh made pasta. They sell street food out front like hot sausage sandwiches and meatball hoagies. They also offer pasta making classes and they have a pasta of the month club! You can get a subscription. This place is very unique. It’s small and there’s some street parking out front. The staff was wonderful. Highly recommend!
My 81yr-old Italian mother who was a great cook in her day; and she and I were thrilled to find what will become our go-to site for homemade pasta and sauce. I was impressed by the interesting, sophisticated, and inventive pastas. The pierogies were a nice surpriseand a nod to the local cultural diversity. The staff were kind and helpful, and it was fun to watch the pasta being made. An extra treat awaited us: a grill on the sidewalk with a selection of goodies - we got a steak and cheese. The costumers were long-standing regulars, a sign that this is a reliable place. You know you're in Pittsburgh when the cook says "what do you want hun" in the local patois. This is the language of the neighborhood community and forefronts the kindness so characteristic of the local area.
