Maggie's Farm Distillery South Hills

A great tour! A great tour guide! A great spirit! A fabulous way to start off a Sunday afternoon. Have lunch! It was delicious. We will be back.

Jul 2024 ==> Another visit with friends. This time we focused more on the food. The mushroom soup was just as good as the first time, although saltier than it should have been. The Drunken Chicken special was just average and was smaller than the other items. They made up for it by giving you a mountain of french fries. The Shrimp bowl and the beet salads with falafel were really good.

The place was much busier that our earlier visit which did highlight a problem. There are high ceilings and no sound insulation so the noise level was uncomfortable loud. We were in a corner so we could hear each other, but I cannot imagine how those in the center of the eating space could converse? Management should really consider adding some sound deadening materials to the ceiling.

Feb 2024 ==> Had the opportunity to taste the rums and the food at the newly opened distillery and restaurant in Upper St. Clair recently with a group of friends. Learned about it from a news article and decided to give it a try. We made reservations and when we got there found our table all waiting for us.

For the rums, they offer a flight for $10. This gives you a quarter ounce pour of each of ten different products that they make. I highly recommend you take advantage of this as it gives you a good overview of their range. They also offer a range of mixed drinks featuring their products and several of us took advantage of that as well. Make sure to ask for any off-menu specials! During our visit, there was a Hot Buttered Rum that was fantastic -but not on the menu!!!

They also offer a complete food menu. We really liked the very creamy and rich Mushroom soup. The Farm Burger featured a bacon jam made with their rum, and the Mac and Cheese was also flavorful. Other dishes that went over well included the Chicken sandwich and the cheese plate. The fries that came with some were good but overly salty.

Staff was excellent: Welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. Distillery tours are slated to begin sometime in Feb 2024.

We left with very satisfied palates and full tummies!

Amazing to have the world-renowned Maggie's Farm in the South Hills. It is a beautiful and impressive building tucked into one of South Hills' many runs. Highly worth a visit no matter the distance. The cocktails are expertly crafted with creativity and quality you will not find anywhere else in South Hills. For those who think they know the expansive flavor profiles of rum, Maggie's Farm proves there's always more to learn. To add to the experience, the service is top notch. Kristen, our server, was welcoming, warm and so naturally professional that we immediately felt conformable. It was clear she was proud to our guide for the high quality food and drink. The food was phenomenal and fairly priced, made even better by the hand crafted, locally sourced ingredients. While we waited for our drinks, we did a small tasting of some of the high-quality spirits. The guide for the tasting was knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. All of that said, please plan a visit here! They have lots of big TVs and a kids menu too so bring the gang!

Outstanding! The food was amazing, cocktails delicious and service great! If I didn't know any different I would have assumed they have been open a lot longer than two weeks. The Zombie cocktail is no joke and a two drink max for good reason. The Ginger Has Nice Mangoes cocktail was fantastic as well. Of course we also got bottles and canned cocktails to go too. We will definitely be here regularly!

Update April 2024: we have been coming regularly and it's still awesome! The staff are polite and attentive. We've tried most of the menu and would order any item again. The cocktails are killer and the special ones are worth an extra visit.

Really great food, cocktails and staff. One of the best burgers I've ever had. Fries and drinks were delicious too. Our waiter, Matthew, was so nice and knowledgeable about the menu. Jen, the manager, checked in a few times too.
