“This is my favorite low key spot for a date night. It's affordable and delicious. If you are looking for a date night location, this spot is nestled right in strawberry square. There are lights strung up over the street and it's gorgeous at night. While this restaurant doesn't provide the cocktails that one might want to enjoy during an evening out, there are many bars and a couple more restaurants near by that serve alcohol. There's also a cute, authentic crepe spot just a hop skip and jump away for dessert. Easily my favorite area of Harrisburg.”

“We were traveling to see family for the holidays and got to talking with our flights captain before we boarded and asked if he had any recommendations for dining in Harrisburg and he recommended El Sol. Nice atmosphere and decor, we felt like we were dining in a restaurant in Mexico. Come to find out the owner and head chef is from Mexico and he takes an incredible amount of pride in his place. You can tell that but the decor and more specifically the food. You definitely won't leave hungry as they have huge portions and everything we ordered was served hot and tasty. We decided to sit in the bar and the bartender Mark was awesome. Great recommendations for the cocktails we had and he didn't skimp on the alcohol. Definitely not expensive either like you would expect for a more upscale Mexican restaurant. “We stumbled upon Fire & Ice while in the area, looking for somewhere to eat. What a GREAT spot! Very clean, friendly staff and the food was DELICIOUS! We had the pulled pork sandwich and the smoked pork belly burger with smoked mac & cheese. After raving about the bacon pepper jam, we were given the smoke deviled eggs to try with the jam as the dip...very good! Can't forget the great homemade ice cream...YUM!”

We loved the lunch buffet on Thurs as it provided the opportunity to taste some of the items we hadn’t tried before. Everything was fresh, kept at appropriate temperature and totally delicious! The renovations of the Valley Bowl Bldg (where Hanks is located) are continuing and we see improvements with each visit! “This place has only been open for a few weeks and I was a little suspect because of the location — a restaurant in a gas station, yeah right. Anyways; my brother went in a few days ago and brought leftovers of the Jamaican jerk chicken bowl and Jamaican beef patties. It was so authentic and rich in flavor, I had to try for myself. Just went today — and a repeat story. The jerk chicken bowl is mouthwatering — the jerk rub is stupid crazy good. The rice and gravy is outstanding. The beef patties are fantastic.
