The Checkerboard Inn Bar & Restaurant

Overall not bad. Sometimes staff in dining room unattentive and not pleasant. Bar area much better.

Great food drinks and service. Awesome place for group parties.

Checkerboard is My neighborhood restaurant and bar . Bar is nice and seems like alot of choices, I don't drink so... Food is very good and consistent. Jenny the waitress is awesome as is most of the staff.

Had a wonderful time Saturday night at the Checkerboard. They had music, great food, and a large menu of drinks. Great atmosphere and I will visit again next time I'm in Pennsylvania. Kudos to staff, friendly and very fast service. 5???? ????????

I have never been in this bar area before tonight. It almost didn't happen since the dark haired woman at the bar wouldn't make eye contact with us upon our arrival as we asked if we could seat ourselves at a high top. That negativity quickly diminished by a lovely waitress that assures us that we were welcome. We wanted the happy hour Coors light special but we were told that was only served if we sat AT the actual bar not the table...wow ok. We were 3 women that wanted to sit together so we didn't want to split up to squeeze into the seats available randomly. Our waitress was great! Drink were served fast and food was good...nothing spectacular other than one of our party raved about the chicken franchisee!! The atmosphere was Lively and fun and I think I'll give it another try it got busy due to a promotion with the local hockey team so I understood having to wait for drink refills. I thought the place was clean in the waitstaff was spectacular and the atmosphere was fun.
