Before I rate this, I would like to say I'm a real Jamaican, and from NYC, so I know flavors. I've had 3 separate dishes from them, and I must say the food definitely is good. The flavors are consistent, but the portions of what you get for the high price does not match. You get WAY more sides then you do, let's say the fried whiting, and fried Turkey wings. So they need to put more protein portions in the plates to match the amount of sides, or lower the price with a little less sides. After all, we're paying for the fish, ribs, turkey etc, not the sides. But other than that. The food and service is good.
In the following pictures you can see how much sides is left after sparingly eating only 2 the wings. Same went for only 2 pieces of fish and ribs.
I am a travel nurse and have been looking for good soul food in the area. This isn't considered soul food. Now the chicken was good but could use some more seasoning. The greens were tough could be cooked longer and add more ham/Turkey w.e. was in it wasn't enough flavor. Mac and cheese was ok. Corn bread was good. And the candy Yams was delicious. The carrot cake wasn't moist. The banana pudding wasn't as good as expected. But other than that the young lady who owns this spot and her boys seem very nice and respectful. Tables were dirty due to people already being there prior to us but she sent to get them clean right away. Was a little pricey but I see how she can afford that Beautiful Mercedes benz parked out front 😊
We tried a new place for lunch 🍴today- for months I’ve been told to check out Seasoned WB! Ooh my goodness …. AMAZING. I’m drooling 🤤 thinking about it again. To start, we had the top secret drink ; tasted like cherry kool aid 🍒 to me 😋. We shared the red velvet chicken and waffles. 🍗 🧇 - now let me tell you the batter of waffles🧇 was amazing sooo soft but not doughy - and the red velvet had a mild chocolate flavor; at least to me anyway which is what I’ve always thought about red velvet . The chicken 🍗 was freshly fried - there’s a difference when grease and oil sit all day you can taste it; not at seasoned ! When a local eatery takes the time to put their love and tears into the dishes like they do at seasoned , I appreciate it more. They even have a sign that says 10-15 min ⏰ wait for fried foods because everything is fresh and they take the time to prepare it properly- they aren’t on a line cranking out quantity- - everything is prepared on the spot - and of course we couldn’t make a visit and not have a side of collard greens and jerk chicken and rice- both were amazing- 🤩 I’ve never had either before and if I have, it was a long time ago or not memorable- the greens were awesome definitely something I could eat all the time and complimented the jerk rice nicely . We were also given complimentary corn bread 🙏🏻- this was hands down the BEST cornbread we’ve ever had. It’s soft and moist unlike most that are dry and suffocating when you try to eat them. Seasoned has cornbread that will literally melt in your mouth ! 🧈 All in all we were highly satisfied 🏆 with our meal- between the food and service and pricing for quality - it gets rated an AWESOME by me. Seasoned is located on Main St in Wilkesbarre next door to Smith's New & Used Tires if you’re looking for some culture, authentic soul food, and great service check them out ; I don’t think you’ll be disappointed 👌🏻
My god. Best chicken in the valley hands down. Don't even get me started about the mac and cheese. GO HERE.
