Only leaving a 4 star so that I can keep this open ended for when I go back and try more. For today I only grabbed a plain slice and a white slice.

Had some people I know tell me that Joe’s Brick Oven was the real deal so I had to stop in and find out. I love a good white slice and figured trying the plain was necessary to gauge against others in the area. The sign says Brooklyn Style pizza and anytime a place says that I’m skeptical right off the bat.

Well…this is in fact Brooklyn style, and it’s good. Quite good. The sauce on the plain had just enough sweetness that it wasn’t overly acidic. The amount of cheese was perfect, and the dough had good consistency and flavor. Nice crispy crust! The crust was even crispier on the white slice and the ricotta was seasoned up nicely.

I’ll absolutely be back to try out more but for now, Joe’s Brick Oven in Cresco, PA - Didn’t Suck!

What can I really say about this Pizza shop. We traveled from New York to go to Kalahari. After settling in we were starving and didn’t want to pay crazy resort food prices so we googled and found Joe’s pizza. We traveled about 18 minutes to get here and me being a New Yorker and of course high standards for pizza. I was surprised to meet a fellow New Yorker (Joe) making pizza. He is a really nice guy and hands down his Pizza exceeded my expectations. I didn’t think it was possible but the pizza was delicious. We didn’t get to dine in and talk some more. Since he had to head out and close early but his service was great and I am a fan. If you’re in the neighborhood it’s worth the trip.

Tip: I would recommend the buffalo chicken pizza.

Hands down the best pizza in the Poconos! Not a fancy place a couple tables, a TV with perpetual Vintage The Price is Right episodes playing (Who doesn't like Bob Barker), a cooler and a counter. But behind that counter the best pizza this side of Jersey is made! Great Pizza at a fair price, what more can you ask for?!

truly the best pizza you could ever get in the united states, biased opinion maybe but it’s my firm belief. this pizza is the reason i got into pizza, which is one of the staples of happiness in my life.

this place (owner is formally the owner of the old Capri Pizza in town) brought me so much joy as a kid growing up my summers in BHF as a young one.
i’m 25 now and i, even though was raised outside of philly and ate lots of philly, jersey and nyc pizza throughout my life, literally FOR YEARS of my life, years and years i’ve told people about the old Capri shop - it is my favorite pizza i’ve ever had and is better than the best places in NY NJ and PA all combined to me!

it reminds me of some of the best times of my life, when everyone i loved was alive and well and when the BHF community was very different, warmer and more together… i saw this store with my partner who i share love for pizza with who i’ve been with since i used to have a house up in NEPA who i always wanted to try my old fav… and i told them we should go inside and check it out based on the look of the pics in the reviews because it reminded me of the ol’ good stuff..! and so we sat down in the quaint new space that is nearby conveniently the family dollar, lewis’ etc.

i saw photos from the old Capri on the walls and my heart started to race, i told my partner that i was excited and nervous to ask, but when we talked to Joe he was so sweet. he assured me he indeed was the original management at the old Capri, and i was ecstatic!!! my partner and i took it to go and the moment i took a bite i actually started crying. i cried so much. i cried because all of the memories flooded back… and the deliciousness of the pizza is truly still unmatched.

Joe has somehow managed to keep his special taste so similar to the past, it was like a beautiful time warp. i haven’t been that happy in years and years having a meal, never cried like a baby like that!

i really want to thank Joe for coming back and making a pizza shop like this. i really would recommend anybody that loves pizza to give this place a go. the way Joe’s craft has been my unmatched favorite pizza for quite possibly over 15 years says more than enough, and it stands the test of time and is a testament to how amazing pizza can be, as it really was the first pizza to ever make me become obsessed with the food as a whole and the pizza community. thank you again Joe and we will definitely be back ASAP!

(by the way.. i think i might be just one of the kids that made the many drawings on the framed board.. i definitely wanna check next time i come back around, hahaha!)

anywho, DON’T skip Joe’s, period. you’ll regret it, and if you go, i know you’ll love it.
