My wife and I had our rehearsal dinner at McCarthy's Red Stag Pub and it was perfect! We are both from New York, so we had never really eaten at the pub (just saw the space during the summer). The Christmas decorations were still up and it was super quaint. We had about 35 guests, which was a PERFECT amount for the space! The bartender was super awesome and the food was delicious. The best part might have been Jill (the head chef and who we had all correspondence with). From the beginning she was super friendly, no nonsense, and very honest. I would ask her about recommendations for items of food per number of guests and she would let me know if I had ordered too much food or perhaps she knew that a certain item (SCONUTS) would be a big crowd favorite and to order more. The location could not have been any better. We had guests staying at both the Hyatt and the Historic Hotel Bethlehem. We wanted a place that was convenient for both, preferably within walking distance, and wouldn't break the bank. It was excellent and I would highly recommend!

Would recommend putting in a reservation. Went around the holidays and there was a very long wait without a reservation. While we waited there was a nice shop attached with lots of Irish items. The food was good and seemed authentic. Large selection of Irish beer and whiskey

Neat cozy atmosphere with good service. Was looking forward to having the Fish and Chips. When it came out the fried fish was laying on top of the chips( shoe string fries) which made them soggy and greasy. We have had better for less and it wasn't at an Irish pub. Was disappointed for what we spent on five meals and drinks. Will have to give McCarthy's another try when it isn't the holiday season.

Always love going here. Atmosphere and food are great. Would have given 5 stars, but not a fan of the new bouncer outside. We didnt even walk in the door and was turned away saying we wouldn't be able to get seats in a negative stand offish tone. Would have loved to have gotten a drink while we waited, but was turned off by our experiences outside.

Really neat atmosphere styled like an Irish pub. Was told an hour and a half wait at 630 on a Friday, no big deal. Walked around the attached shop and some of the other store fronts for about 45 minutes and they called us to say that our table was ready. I got the Cottage pie which was excellent, my wife got grilled salmon which she really enjoyed. The staff was friendly and the service was exceptionally fast for a Friday night. I highly recommend if you are looking for a hearty meal.
