I give 3 stars only because the food was good. We came for lunch the other day the man who is the waiter is unprofessional, he reeks of booze and cigarettes. We actually saw him outside in front of the main entrance smoking a cigarette while we looked for parking, we should have known there that was a big nono but we did not know he was the waiter. We were completely shocked when he came to our table. He placed a glass of water down and my glass literally smelled like the cigarette from his hand. His cough, his appearance is not what you’d want to see or hear when dining. I’m sorry I do not want to be rude but staff is what makes a place. This place has the potential to blossom with the food just needs the train employees on cleanliness and set designated smoking areas. No business especially a restaurant should allow any employees to smoke directly in front of their main entrance that is not a good look for anyone driving by. And be mindful if we smelled the booze on his breathe we know the fellow employees smell it as well. Although the man is very nice it’s just unprofessional and our experience would have been a 5 star if it wasn’t for him.

The lady “Kathy” below should have her understanding corrected. Here’s how it actually went: they were waiting at the door when we opened, and as the only person in the front I had much to do. The first thing she said after I said hello was “we are in a rush “ and when I took them to one of the favorite tables, she said “there’s nothing else?” In which I said “only what you see” before sitting down she said she had never had Thai food and what did I recommend. Now, Thai food is a distinct taste. I told her to review the menu as the owners have made it user friendly and described everything we have to offer. I said after the review I would help her decide. As this is a very busy restaurant, only about 15% I would estimate is take out. They happened to come in when there was a in flux of take out. Which, as I mentioned, as The only person there, I have to prepare this as well. I was rushing around but never towards them. Most of my loyal customers find this a redeeming quality and often comment on how hard I work. Regardless, I came back to the table and asked if she had a chance to review. She didn’t even open the menu but rather checked the reviews to see what other people recommend. Her very polite very nice son knew what he had wanted. At this point, I asked if she likes spicy and she said not really. I recommended the safest dish being pad Thai, and she ordered that. Let me reiterate, her picture is of pad Thai and she ordered my recommendation. She again reminded me they had somewhere to be. So I went to the kitchen and told them to make their dishes first before the take out orders so we could accommodate. Since the chef makes everything to order, a dinner here may take a little bit of extra time to prepare. I brought out their dishes and in about 5 minutes I came to check. Very friendly I asked what she thought of Thai food... she just stared at me like I was beneath her and her son quickly answered that his was excellent. I noticed they had switched meals. This is why reviewing the menu first is important. When I brought the dessert menu and came back for the order, as usual I asked the lady first if she had decided, she said she didn’t want anything and I took her menu. The son ordered sticky rice and ice cream, and I recommended trying the green tea ice cream as it is amazing. He did. I brought their dessert and in about 5 minutes I brought their check. As she mentioned they were in a rush. I came back to clear the dessert plate and thank them (they left cash so it didn’t need to be processed). They left 1.50 tip on 30. She came in with a chip on her shoulder and I figured she would act accordingly. She didn’t disappoint. Also, nursing and chef isn’t customer service in a tip paying comparison. I’ve never tipped my chef or nurse. She mentioned the food was “just ok”. Not only did she not even know what she got, the chef at 1001 Thai is arguably the best Thai chef in quite a distance. When never having had Thai it’s hard to understand how absolutely brilliant he is with his craft. The only thing she got right is that the owners clearly take pride in their restaurant. It is a small quant friendly atmosphere. The owners are two of the most beautiful people available and it’s unfair to compare when you know nothing else. Please do not take her idea as reflective of the whole. I hope they enjoyed the show they were rushing to get to (2 and a half hours after their meal).

Best Thai food around. I eat here at least once a week and the food is always great. Staff and owner are always great as well and accomodatiing. Never had a bad meal and would highly recommend. Great spot if you are vegetarian or vegan/plant based!

We have dined here twice and the food has been consistent and delicious. The crab fried rice was delicious. My husband ordered the thai basil eggplant that was also very nice. Bring a nice bottle of your favorite wine! Reservations highly recommended. Enjoy!❤
