Take it from me….If you’re only in Newport for one night, choose Chanterelle for dinner. Every detail from the door to the dinner was first class. Carmen, Dan, and Cin (?) were professional yet personal rendering the service and hospitality nothing short of excellent. However, it’s the food that you want reviewed, so….. The Cornish Hen was phenomenal with the sauce and each vegetable made to perfection. The pear tart is something to be experienced. (Hint: Ask for extra ice cream. You’ll thank me later.) Don’t forget to order coffee with dessert. The only disappointment for me is that I’m going home tomorrow and won’t be able to try more dishes.
Excellent! Tuna dijonnaise and lobster ravioli and flourless chocolate cake. Wonderful experience.
A quaint restaurant in Newport, can be a bit slow, but the wait is certainly worth it. The souffle is amazing and highly recommended. We had a number of appetizers along with a seared tuna and filet mignon for dinner, nothing disappointed.
We had a lovely dinner at Chantarelle while staying at the Bouchard Inn. From start to finish, the experience was thoughtfully curated by the chantarelle staff.
We shared the mushroom puff pastry to start and for entrees we had the Sweetbreads and the Filet Mignon and finished with the Grand Marnier soufflé.
Highly recommend this enchanting French restaurant for a date night.

The food was good but not outstanding. The lobster bisque was my favorite and I would order that again. The fish tasted fresh but I wanted a bit more it terms of flavor and aroma. The soufflé dessert was great!
