    It was one of two restaurants open during the slow season and it was pretty good food. Delicious fries, decent drinks and a selection of Irish whiskey as well as whiskey flights.

    Food was amazing...and the portions were so big. Couldn't finish everything had to take to go.

    We were visiting Block island during the off season of November, which meant that pretty much nothing else was open.

    McAloon's is a cute spot for bar/pub food. I was a little surprised by how much things cost, but it might also be because it was the off season and getting groceries on an island might not be the cheapest. Nevertheless, the staff are great, they have good drinks, and the food is what you would expect. I did think their fries were really yummy.

    We tried their hangover burger, calamari fries, soft shell crab sandwich, and fish and chips.
    The best of the lot was the burger.
    Calamari fries were ok, not sure it's worth the price.
    Soft shell crab sandwich was a letdown. The crab gets drowned out by all the bread, and it was generally quite a dry sandwich.
    Fish and chips - pretty average.

    I do appreciate the fact that this place stayed open when no one else would!
