best place on earth. All year long I look forward to the summer when I visit block island and can finally eat at the springhouse. The vibe here is unmatched and the food is the best ever. Make sure to come for the gorgeous sunsets and if there’s a wait you can always order appetizers and drinks at the Adirondack chairs. DONT SKIP DESSERT HERE. The creme brulee saved lives. I’m serious. If you’re ever in block island you must eat at the springhouse.
The food and the service are excellent and the view from the porch is unmatched.

The view is extraordinary and spectacular to say the least. They had a piano player outdoors on the lawn with a fabulous voice , singing Billy Joel, Beatles etc. songs, and a lot of other famous song artists we all know.
The first night we both had grilled swordfish, and it was fresh and it was excellently prepared. Grilled zucchini came with it and a seasoned rice. That was very good. The sauce was a butter wine sauce. That was excellent on the fish. We went back the second night my husband chose the pork chop, and it was superb! It was a thick pork chop, but yet it was so tender and not chewy at all, and the preparation was outstanding. I chose the lobster ravioli and unfortunately that should be taken off their menu because I order it a lot in Florida where I live and I’ve had a whole lot better than that. I did not care for the sauce at all and the ravioli was somewhat hard, and the filling was not very moist. I also tried their frozen piña colada, which was excellent. So it’s a great restaurant, but I would not order a lobster ravioli there.
You can do better than this for dinner if you head into town, but I have to admit the view of the sea is great and food is acceptable (albeit expensive).
The service was unfortunately sub-par during my visit, though it is a large restaurant with many, many staff members dealing with plenty of patrons. So if you happen to come off peak hours you might have a better experience.
Ultimately, it’s rather overpriced for what you’re getting (based on my visit) so I can’t recommend it.
However, what I would suggest instead is getting appetizers and cocktails on the lawn rather than sitting for dinner. The lawn is absolutely spectacular and well worth a trip over (early to get a lawn chair as it gets busy).
