“Wow! What a gem of a restaurant in Westerly! My colleagues from Westerly and I dined at this establishment last night and I was very impressed with the food taste, presentation, and service. Jen was our wonderful and personable server and she had lots of superb recommendations. Every dish was absolutely delicious: the calamari, the lobster mac & cheese with truffle oil, fries, bread - all superb. Lastly, the prep & quality of the veal chop special was sublime. There was not a dish that we didn't like and I look forward to bringing my family to Ella's in the near future!!!”

“For such a small place, expectations weren't high to begin. The staff is inviting and the place is actually bigger on the inside. The pizza's (2: cheese , pepperoni) were a 6.5 out of 10. Not terrible, would eat it again but definitely not my go-to. Sauce had a unique taste that i didn't care for and the cheese had no taste but the crust saved it. Price was good especially there deals on wednesday. I have also have several grinders ( chicken parm & meatball) . Good portions but the chicken was cut up and had very bland taste and the meatball grinder was mainly over powered by too much sauce. Overall not a bad place at all but not my favorite.”

So when I heard he was bringing Bess Eaton back I already knew just from knowing them that this would be the best of the best just based on what I know of the man who brought it back. And I was correct, it’s by far the best around and the ONLY coffee and donut place I’ll ever go to. The fact that a Westerly family brought it back only makes it better. He’s the reason I tried it and I was not disappointed in any way whatsoever. Wish I could give more than 5 stars. Great job David, your family, and partners! There’s nowhere better.”

“Table had calamari, gumbo, pan seared scallops and prime rib. Calamari was good except for the ratio of peppers to calamari. Way to many peppers. As far as the dinners they were not timed correctly so the mashed potatoes, vegetables, and pureed parsnips were cold as soon as we got our plates. Scallops were really good but you only get 6... Prime ribs were rushed so inner meat was tough. Best dish seemed to be the gumbo. Service was good and setting was nice next to the river and fireplace. Nice ambiance. I bet the food would be better on the weekend.”

It was late but the service was amazing, Josh was exceptionally informative, polite and gave a great service. Food was delicious, portions were generous. “When I am in Westerly/Watch Hill area I usually stop here for lunch. The food is very fresh and the atmosphere is open, airy and casually comfortable. I especially like a cup of soup with the quiches and side salads. I'm a quiche fan and they do a nice job with them. I've seen sandwiches that come out to other customers and they look very fresh and appetizing too. I agree that it can be a little noisy but it's an open place. They also have a front outside porch/seating area. I also agree a couple of the wait staff could kick it up a notch in the "friendly customer service" category. But when they're busy, that's how it goes....I gave five stars because for the price, the food, and the type of cafe The Cooked Goose is you won't find much better!”
