Noisy bar atmosphere! Restaurant came highly recommended from several people. As a patron I felt those recommendations to be somewhat overrated. We had a nice waitress Mackenzie. The food was a mixed bag. Some food was good like the fried oysters. We had them as an app and with the meal. The calamari appetizer was good. The fried shrimp in the seafood platter was very overcooked. I have never had shrimp that tasted like overcooked chicken. We also had the shrimp and grits, which was enjoyed by my wife. In all it was better than worse but not by a lot... we found better seafood at other nearby restaurants. Also the only way we could get the seafood platter was fried they do not offer steamed or grilled which is a sign of untrained cooks not chefs. I could go back but probably not for seafood maybe some of the other offerings would be better.
This is a really cool spot right in the middle of the market in downtown Charleston. Live music, fun people, awesome staff, and some pretty good food make it a great late-night joint to meet up with friends. Don't forget to check out the rooftop as well which is really nice, when the weather is cooler. @tripswithjake
We had 4 days visiting in Charleston and found Henry's on the first day, we had such a great time that we ended up back there all 4 days! Great location, it was right downtown near our hotel on King St. and walking distance. Greg and his awesome staff, memorable bartenders Randy, Kyle, Jordon, and Andre, were always interacting, joking around, and super personable with the customers. Henry's also has several levels with rooftop patios and lounges. We loved the cozy atmosphere of the Whiskey Lounge, the bartenders made awesome craft cocktails and the food was delicious (the She-Crab soup and Crab Cakes, yum!) The atmosphere was always fun and had great live music every night. I would definately recommend putting Henry's on your list when visiting in Charleston!
Poor selection of beer. That’s all I was here for.
