Went on a Sunday when there was no problem getting a table, the Mac n cheese is other-worldly. Get it. Ribs were delicious. Reasonably priced for the quality and quantity. Don't go here if you're not hungry for fantastic southern BBQ

The food was delicious. The staff was nice but also didn't see out server much. I asked for extra napkins because I got chicken wings and was brought a single napkin which wasn't helpful. The grits were really yummy and my husband LOVED the wings though. Definitely a place to try if you're feeling BBQ

Definitely the best BBQ we've had in a long time!!! This is a casual but super cute place, great service!!! We didn't know you could make reservations, but were seated fairly soon after we walked in and before the dinner rush came in. They give you tasty cold water in small canning jar glasses as soon as you sit down, and bring you a bucket of three sauces... Carolina gold, vinegar sweet and hot, and a "regular" tomato-based sauce. Let me tell you, friends, there is nothing regular about the tomato-based sauce and I could have bathed in it, it was so delicious!!!! I had the pulled pork, and it was so tender and flavorful...my hubs had the ribs and he said he'd never had better and the seasoning was so good he didn't even use the sauces. The collard greens were slightly sweet and awesome and the hash and rice could've been its own meal with as much meat was in it. They also serve with crispy homemade pickle chips and some awesome pickled red onions. Can't say enough good stuff about this place... The best meal we've had our whole time staying in Downtown Charleston and our new fav ever.

The atmosphere is pretty cool, laid back and a nice blend with the old architecture. We really liked that they were trying to avoid the use of plastic and non recyclable stuff. Our server was awesome. The food was pretty good. The ribs were absolutely delicious. The pulled pork I could have bought much cheaper at Sonny's, they are of equal taste and quality (meaning don't go out of your way for the pulled pork). The coleslaw had some spice to it. I liked that but my kids, who love Coleslaw didn't. Kids loved the cheese grits. My wife liked her green beans and wings. They were almost too spicy for her though. They need a few more mild options. The brownie was more of a chocolate torte than a brownie. My wife loved that but I didn't. Overall it was a good experience and worth it.

Poogan's Smokehouse was wonderful. All the food was of great quality - freshly prepared, delicious flavors, quality ingredients. Our server (Trey or Troy, I can't remember his name) was so nice and got our order perfectly correct. I went with 3 friends and they all enjoyed their meals. The charred broccoli was surprisingly amazing, as was their mac and cheese. Highly recommend this spot.
