Lady on phone made sure we knew where they were located and made sure everything was ok with our order before we left. Large picture menu so you can see what you are ordering and very accurate to what you actually get. If you're looking for something quick, light, or delicious...this is your place.”

“Used to come here when it was Sophia's. We always vacation in Surfside Beach and love that this place is walking distance from our house. The ice cream was very good, but I hope they broaden their selection at some point and offer soft serve. The prices were what you would expect for a beach ice cream parlor and the service was OK. Nothing great, but a good, quiet place to go right across the street from the beach.”

It would have been like any other bar experience but Jason that Saturday night made it a very memorable one. “The food was very good, but the atmosphere is lacking. You order at the counter and if eating in seat yourself in the attached dining area. They have a self-serve soda fountain station & iced tea. The kitchen area is located directly behind the counter, so the heat from the kitchen flows out into the dining area. The problem was it felt warm & uncomfortable. Thank God it was a cloudy day. Because of the way the restaurant is laid out, when the doors open the A/C escapes & the heat from the kitchen doesn't help. Also, there are no ceiling fans to circulate the air. No complaints about the food, though. The prices are comparable to what you would pay for food near the beach.”

“Excellent wings and service but a little pricey for the area. Don’t let the exterior look fool you but it’s roomy inside. Local place for families so it can get a bit noisy. Looks like a great place to catch the big game. Updated 7/3/19: We have been monthly local regulars for about a year now and even though it's a little expensive for the location the wings and sides are very good. This trip we had a long wait for a table but were finally seated after about 45 minutes. The one VERY annoying thing about the place is that they have a LOUD front door chime that they can't seem to disable even when they are very busy. The servers are very attentive and accommodating. They don't seem to want your party to linger at all, just eat and hit the road Yo!”

“My mom and I usually go to the same restaurants when we’re here, but I found this restaurant online and wanted to give it a try. I have say it is literally the best Italian restaurant I’ve visited, and I’ve been to several. The food is phenomenal and all made in-house and made fresh. And they had handmade gluten-free cheese ravioli! It was so well made, it didn’t even taste gluten-free, and I know it was because it’s now several hours later and I’ve had no reaction. Our server, Brooke, was impeccable. She was so friendly and attentive. The other staff were also so friendly and the atmosphere was very inviting. Sal, the owner, even came out to say hi, and he bought me my cappuccino. We were there during a lull, but I have a feeling this is something he does regularly. His family is from Sicily and he moved from New York and eventually to SC. (I love finding out the history behind places like this.) It felt like we were chatting with friends between the patrons who sat behind us and the staff. I highly recommend going to The Original Valentino Italian Restaurant if you are near Surfside (or even if you’re not)! I can’t believe it was the first time we’ve been here, but it won’t be the last.”

“I was pleasantly surprised! I’m not a fan of these types of places.....crowded buffets make me nervous. It was actually very good! They worked very hard to keep it clean and restocked. The food was very fresh! Everything I had tasted great. I only gave it 4 stars due to the long wait but they tried to keep it fun while we waited. They had a DJ and some fun stuff for the kids.”

“Very good muffins and bagels! I always get two cinnamon muffins and they’re wonderful. My family gets cinnamon raisin and apple cinnamon bagels and they love them. I wish there was a Big Apple Bagels near my home. We eat here every time we come down to Myrtle. The service is always incredible and don’t worry if there’s a long line because they’ll handle it very quickly and professionally.”

“The servers here are very nice but the quality of the sushi is mediocre at best. I’ve come twice to make sure I wasn’t being overly critical but the second time was worst than the first. The sushi rice is warm, the fish is cut so ridiculously thin and there is nothing special. This is the McDonald’s of sushi. It’s fine if you just want quantity but it lacks quality. The place is in a good location and is beautiful and clean. They just really need to hire someone passionate about the food to make it.”

“Was here with 7 friends yesterday for lunch. Was pleasantly surprised. Casual, cute place, plenty of choices on the menu. Food was fresh and tasty ????; their potato fries are delicious. Every one had something different on the menu and all were very satisfied with taste and freshness. It has some outdoor tables and bar. It's a little hidden but definitely a hidden gem for MB visitors looking for a tasty, healthy bite. We'll definitely be eating there again. Hope they keep up the quality!”

It came with chips, pickle and a small serving of a delicious pesto pasta salad that hadn't been listed on the board. Yum. I would recommend stopping in for a bite at Raves.”
