“I had the fried chicken. Yum! Many places over batter and overcook chicken. Mountain Rest Cafe's was light- golden and delicious just like when I was a kid. Sides are important to me. I had the squash and the broccoli salad. Both were made from scratch and tasted great. I wish I could have tried the Onion rings that I saw at another table. We visit Mountain Rest occasionally and I am glad that there is a great home cooking restaurant here. Sorry I missed their bar b q on Memorial Day weekend”

“Overall here our experience was pleasant. We went on a week night to avoid a crowd. The salad bar was good. We ordered the crab cakes and while they were served nice and hot, they were pretty bland. My husband and I both ordered the steak. The portion was generous, but again all of the food was pretty bland. Everything lacked flavor. I just doused it in steak sauce to give it flavor. The coleslaw and corn relish on the side both offered little flavor. I ate my steak because for the price, I certainly wasnt going to not eat it. But it was probably one of the blandest meals I've had.”

“I love Yousef's! So does my dad. It's his favorite restaurant and he goes there to much to be healthy. The food is amazing. If you like the southern home cooked vibe, you NEED to go to Yousef's. You can catch Yousef in there sometimes,too. He's great. The staff is really friendly. I mean, they will talk to you as if they're your friends. They know us by now, but they do it with everyone. Wednesday is my dad's favorite day to go. Stew beef and gravy night. Make sure you get there before 8pm. That's when they close the bar (of food, not beer) although you can still order off the menu. Bar is better in my opinion. If you go, get the cabbage. It's amazing.”

The staff was friendly and helpful and the prices were extremely affordable. My wife and I dined here on a Saturday night (not sure why one review said they are closed on Saturday?). Both of us really enjoy our food. The fish was fresh and tasty and the presentation was very nice. I would highly recommend it.”
