A unusual hotel, my room was comfortable and clean. But getting to it was strange. I started out in one building and took elevator to 4th floor and ended up taking a covered deck across a roof to the building I registered in. I think it might be a problem, for someone not fit. There are plenty of rooms were you don't have to go through this. I have to say the room was a good value.

After reading some of the negative reviews on here I ended up staying the night. It was inexpensive and on my way into the black hills, was going to camp but it was rainy and chilly so I stopped for the night.

I did not experience any negative like some people complaining about. The two ladies working were friendly and chatty. Especially the new gal that just started!

Room wasn’t top notch but hey for a room under $40 I’m no complaining. Was a pretty quiet stay, room size was prefect for a single person. The only complaint is the bed. Way too soft for me but I’m used to a firm bed.

The town was awesome! Worth walking the city and heading up to the cemetery if your up for a nice hike up the hill.

Thanks ladies for the great evening.

Although it was only for one night, I really enjoyed my stay here! My husband and I were driving through town and wanted to get the "Deadwood" experience while we could. This little hotel is very nice and historical feeling. The elevator was probably my favorite part. Very old school! The owners were very friends and accommodating. We came in late and they were very understand and helped us get our room key and what not. The only issue was the water pressure was not very even through out the room. The pressure in the kitchen was way stronger than the pressure in the bathtub. Nothing too crazy to ruin my experience though. We are definitely coming back!

Wonderful historic atmosphere....but still comfortable! Staff was friendly, and very responsive with great advice on what to see and do also! Reserve earlier for pet friendly room...it was really lovely to be able to stay in this great place with our dog and kitty cat. Chef Bob's hamburgers will never be forgotten, although just in case we're planning on returning as often as we can! Make sure to get breakfast here at least once.

Just stayed here in October and had an amazing time. The room was very large with huge windows and a view of downtown. Bed was super comfortable. The room also came with a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee pot, which were all nice adds. Also enjoyed the historic elevator - a step back in time. Owners were friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Would definitely stay here again.
