Limo is a family run business that turned from food truck to a brick and mortar restaurant in January. I was super excited to visit after reading so many positive reviews and was delighted to find out what Peruvian cuisine is all about. The food had a creamy texture and rich flavor that surprised me. My husband and I ordered the arroz con mariscos, the tallarines verdes, and the potatas appetizer. The mariscos had depths of maritime flavor that was savory and layered and the tallarines verdes was refreshingly delicate. The muscles in the mariscos were a little overcooked but the dish was a delight to eat. The portion sizes here are large and leftovers are as good reheated as they are the first time because the rice is not dry.
As the business expands, so is the experience of the team at limo. The staff is kind and is learning to adapt to a full service restaurant. I did not mind my the wait and found that coming before 6 gets you in the door pretty quickly. After 6pm the line was out of the door. The atmosphere here is the most major thing that could be improved upon here in my opinion. The food is rich, unique, and homemade. I wish the atmosphere conveyed that. I will be coming back to Limo!
So happy these folks finally have a brick & mortar location. They have worked so hard. The food was fabulous! We ordered the octopus and the red snapper - whole fish dish. We would order both again. My boyfriend is Peruvian and has high standards of his Peruvian dishes. They passed his test with flying colors! 🇵🇪
Amazing, fresh Peruvian food. The chicha morada and passion fruit juice were amazing too! Best in Nashville so far and a great vibe on the inside. The owner even came by our table to introduce herself. Will definitely be returning!
Let me start by saying I came out of town to Nashville and by far this was the best meal I had in the whole trip. This restaurant holds a punch competing with bigger cities cuisines like NY, LA, and Chicago. It was one of the few places in Nashville to leave a resounding impression on me. I will definitely be talking up this place to all my friends and making sure they check out this place when they visit Nashville.
The owner came out and ensured our experience was positive. She made really great recommendations and ensured that she could accommodate for my nut allergy. As a table, we ordered the ceviche with the raw meats and the fried octopus. Both were extremely delicious but the ceviche by far was one of the best dishes I've had at any latin restaurant period. It combined every aspect I love of Mexican ceviche along with sushi. For my entree, I had the Peruvian pesto linguine dish which was super creamy and the steak combined with the sauce was amazing. I had the creme brulee for dessert and it also took me back to my childhood eating Mexican flan but further enhanced it. My other friends got different dishes including the Lomo Saltado and Chupe De Camarones. I tried a bit of their dishes and both were extremely delicious as well.
Overall, I was extremely happy to see a local Latino business bringing an elevated dining experience for others to enjoy and a great entry point to show how well balanced latin food is with fat, salt, acid, and heat. It blew my mind how well it captured all of the flavors from my childhood growing up in every dish. It felt like the presentation was on point but it never sacrificed on any flavor for aesthetic which is a hard balance to strike.
My husband and I stopped in earlier today and are so glad we did! The space is bright and open, the staff and owner are very friendly and knowledgeable, and the speed in which we got our food was shocking. Every dish was delicious, but the ceviche stole the show! (I ate it too fast to take a picture.)
The owner let us know that they’d only had their soft opening, so they will have a full bar, etc. in a few months. Bar or no bar, I’m looking forward to a lot more meals at Limo!
