“There are a lot of Chinese restaurants in the Chattanooga area and most of them are buffets. Formosa is not a buffet and the food is far superior to any buffet I've ever eaten at. We've lived in the area for 11 years now and never tried Formosa before last week. The restaurant sits in a corner of a strip mall, and we never really knew what it was. Our friends asked us to meet them there last week and we decided to check it out. The restaurant was nearly full, which was a good sign. We were quickly seated, handed menus and our server took our drink orders. The menu is extensive and I liked the fact that each dish had a complete description of the meal and if it was hot (spicy) or not. There were so many choices that I had a hard time choosing just one dish. All four of us ordered different dishes and eat one was looked outstanding. I ordered the Almond Chicken dish and it was fantastic. You get a choice or white, brown or fried rice with each meal, so we picked all three. The dishes were served piping hot, full of flavor and looked and smelled fantastic. The portion sizes were great for dinner. They also have a lunch menu, but I am not sure if the portions are smaller for the lunch specials, but I would assume that they would be. This is now our favorite restaurant and we can't wait to visit them again.”

“You want a delicious breakfast? This is a must do! The BEST restaurant breakfast my husband and I have had in years! Drove an hour to get here, parking is a little difficult to find BUT ooooh so worth it! Ordered the polish eggs and hubby ordered a pancake. Eggs were absolutely delicious, fried potatoes absolutely delicious! Biscuits were huge and yummy too! The pancakes are about an inch thick each... I'll be looking for the mix at the store. The decor was really cool. I especially liked looking at the covers of old cereal boxes and remembered seeing many from my kid years! Just a fantastic experience. We will definitely be back!”

“Yes, Dr. Jim Dick is a little pricey.... but he is worth it! He has been my dentist for a year and a half. When I first walked in to Dr D's office I had so many dental problems.. I was having pain but didn't know what was causing it. I had my first evaluation and was told some bad news that scared me.. but the hygenist was so reassuring to me that we could fix my problems and save my teeth. Dr. D is always so calm and reassuring when he talks to patients. I have anxiety issues, and I know I can be frustrating as a patient, but he is always so gentle and calm. When I have had problems in the past with the anesthesia that was used for a procedure, or a certain medication after he pulled my wisdom teeth they always immediately adjust my records to indicate not to use certain anesthesia on me or adjust anything that is needed to make sure I am comfortable. Everyone in his office is so friendly and caring. I think this may be the best dentist I have ever had! His primary insurance they accept is Delta Dental, so be prepared for this when you walk in the door. They will also work with you on payment plans, which is so great for someone on a fixed income like myself. His assistant and receptionist know me by name, and always take time to ask me how I'm doing, inquire about my family, and really take the time to get to know the patients. I can not say enough good things about Dr. D and his staff! I had a wisdom tooth pulled today, and it was the quickest and most painless procedure I think I have ever had! I expressed to them that I was scared and anxious (due to my anxiety issues and one of his assistants came over and helped me relax and offered to hold my hand through the procedure and then chuckled with me afterward about how good I had done, and really put me at ease. Now I've set up my family with Dr. D's office so they can experience this wonderful care providor for themselves. If there were more stars to give in this review I would gladly give them to this wonderful man and his staff of caring professionals. --- K.E.W.”

“We went for lunch and everything was exceptional!! The crab roll was on special, and my wife didn't even offer a bite! ! She said it was the best she had ever had. I had the voodoo chicken. A half chicken off the rotisserie, flash fried makes a nice crust to a tender chicken. It can with a couple of dipping sauces that just made the perfect compliment. “We visited at 12:30 on Sunday and had such a wonderful experience that we are planning a return visit this weekend. We live almost 2 hours away so this is significant in itself. The only downside was waiting an hour for a table, then another hour for food to arrive. However we enjoyed the wait by playing corn hole, and mingling with the many “fur babies” that accompanied other patrons. My daughters “kids meal” had a HUGE helping of eggs, giant pancake and 2 slices of bacon. All of this for $6.00! My fried chicken and grits was good, and would have been excellent had I not tried my husbands “southern eggs Benedict”. Once I did I cld barely remember anything else. The combo of candied bacon, runny egg told, crunchy sourdough & pimento cheese stole both my heart, AND my vote for #1 breakfast EVER. It was so good that ignored the fact that I was overcharged for the coffee’s we enjoyed while waiting. A drip coffee over ice, iced mocha & hot chocolate cake to $22.00! It wasn’t until the ride home that I realized an error must have occurred. Next time I will pay more attention & it was my fault for not catching it then. Definitely try this spot when in Chattanooga, you won’t be disappointed you did!”
