“Yesterday me, my dad, and two friends went to this location to kayak down the river. We had such a blast it was absolutely beautiful. The family that owns this shop were incredibly kind and helpful. They have the sweetest kids as well and it’s just a very wholesome little family owned business. I highly recommend anyone to go there. “We had out-of-state guests visit, so we rented a boat for the day from Wildwood Resort & Marina as a way to spend a day together doing something fun locally. From what we saw of the resort, it was beautiful and very well appointed. As a marina, the dock and rental boat were perfect. Clean, well-maintained, and in very easy-to-enjoy condition. We rented the boat for the entire day, travelling both upstream and downstream from the marina's location near Granville; the scenery was superb and the river/lake conditions were ideal. We've rented boats from many destination locations across the country, and our experience at Wildwood Resort & Marina was exceptional. I highly recommend visiting, and we plan to return soon.”

“I happened to drive through Gainsboro and I was told about a great restaurant that serves AWESOME seafood gumbo. I tell you what! We lived in Baton Rouge Louisiana and thought you can only have authentic seafood gumbo only in Louisiana, I stand to be corrected. Great food and folks down there”

“Our family loves "The Charro." We have grown to love the ubiquitous "Mexican" food found throughout the area. At The Charro, we have noticed some minor inconsistencies over the years, but overall the quality of the food is excellent. Everyone has a bad day now and then. The food is generally well prepared and flavorful. The menu is diverse and the salsa bar is worth some experimentation. The owners and long-term staff seem to take service very seriously and are pleasant and attentive. This is currently the only restaurant in Gainesboro that we eat at.”
