Exceptional food, service, and atmosphere! So glad we came up on this establishment. I ordered the Princess Peach cocktail and the Mr. Eddie pot roast sandwich with homemade fried potato chips. My husband had a Jack and coke with the chopped steak, grilled asparagus, broccoli and cornbread. Everything was super delicious 😋
Short walk from Beale. The food is reasonably priced and was so very delicious! Although after I left, I realized my sandwich that was supposed to have bacon on it, had none! Also, the service was too slow. It was a Friday at like 11:15 am. It was not very busy at all. But it took a while to get our orders taken. Regardless of these mishaps, I recommend the place for the yummy food and prices!
So we went 2x because it is in the hotel lobby. We sat at the bar both times. The service and cocktails are awesome. Visit 2 was breakfast, the portions are huge. We could have split a meal. We loved everything but the gravy.
Really solid breakfast! The service was perfect and the atmosphere was chill. Not at all busy. The Monte Cristo was delish. The chicken and waffles were pretty standard but good. The door to the street was locked to only allow patrons in so that was a little confusing and we thought it was closed. Might be easier to go through the hotel or catch someone's attention. Luckily they noticed us and quickly let us in. Overall a really good experience, recommend for a casual breakfast downtown.
This was a few blocks from my hotel, and while it's not the only place I ate, it's the only place I ate more than once.
First meal I ate was blackened catfish with garlic mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli and a corn muffin, then since I was celebrating a lava cake with raspberry compote for dessert. While the blackened catfish would probably be pretty tame to most people, it was perfect for me. Everything was fantastic and my server was energetic and fun.
I returned for breakfast the next morning and went with the country fried steak with white gravy, hash browns, scrambled eggs and a biscuit. A little too much food for me first thing in the morning but I ate as much as I could because I did not want this to go to waste. A couple days later I returned for the biscuits and gravy with sausage, and again I ate as much as I could.
If and when I return to Memphis, this restaurant will definitely be on my list.
