We went at around noon on a Friday and there was no wait at all. They did have lunch specials but I chose the Turkey bacon avocado sandwich with fries. The fries have a great seasoning and didn't really need ketchup at all. The sandwich was excellent. Our waitress, Jordyn was a great server.
Great beer, the green pork chili is amazing. Don't get the cup of chili get the bowl, otherwise you regret it. The chicken fried chicken is good, nothing crazy good about it. The potatoes and vegetables were top notch.
The food is very good, but falls short of being great. Fries were fresh but really greasy. The brisket burger is very good... What keeps it from being great is that both the burger and the brisket were overcooked, but the flavor was still right on. 5 stars are warranted, though, in no small part because of blue star's location... Right next to Stella's and halcyon's. You could spend an afternoon and evening just in those 3 places and have a great day.
Stopped in last night and tried several beers. Enjoyed all of them, especially the raspberry sour. So good! We had the pig pie and it was tasty, but we would have liked it more if it had a little zip added. The chocolate cake was rich and delicious! Glad we stopped.
Great selection of beers; definitely enjoyed the hand pumped Cask ale. The menu is pretty standard with some Tex/Mex twists. The brisket nachos are worth a try for the unique technique alone and the brisket is smoked perfectly. We had a meal during First Friday so the area was busy and they had a live band on the patio.
