Waxy's

So much “iffy” food on the Riverwalk, it was surprising to enjoy such a great meal at Waxy’s. I had the fish and chips and my wife had the chicken pot pie. Both were prepared perfectly and were very tasty. The place looks like a dump, and the tables (especially outside) could use a wipe down, but I highly recommend the food.

The food, and drinks were fantastic! My husband and I had the shepherds pie. The portions were large. Everything was full of flavor. Our son had the lamb stew, and loved every bite. We also enjoyed the spinach dip, and loaded potato skins. Every single thing tasted so food. I highly recommend this place

Very friendly greeter and serving staff. Taste tested a new beer and loved it. We sat outside beside the river. Food service was quick and the Reuben we shared was delicious. Then we hoped on the riverboat ride right out front.

First of all, this is a pub which we knew, but we are not drinkers. We are going to Ireland in the Spring and wanted to taste the food here. It is on the Riverwalk so great for atmosphere. We ate around 4:30 to avoid the drinking crowd and outside which if it's not cold is fine. Until after we ordered and two young men sat at the table next to us and started smoking. The smell blew to us and made my meal not so pleasant but yes, outdoor seating and they are allowed. I ordered the Bangers and Mash which supposedly had imported sausages from Ireland and my husband the lamb stew. Honestly I wish I had the Shepard's pie. It was good but the sausage was extremely finely ground, and tasted like it was made from chicken? Just not what I expected or use to. They definitely give you plenty!
