Looking at the food coming from the kitchen and the snack we enjoyed, these folks are on their game!!! The hubs loved the Oktoberfest and well, I'm a wine gal so enjoyed their offerings. Really neat place with great folks, an owner who is present and they offer a Military discount, 5% I think(?). Truly worth a stop when you travel through Blanco.”

“Very friendly with good food and good service. The “plain jane” burger is huge and it was cooked perfectly. The chili is made with brisket and was very unique and tasty. I didn’t try the chicken fried steak, but it looked great. Their French fries were also very tasty, the kids ate every last one. I wasn’t impressed with the fried pickles, but everything else was very good. I would definitely come back here again.”

“We just had lunch here, absolutely fantastic food, and you can customize the heat for your dish. It's a food truck on the property of Hye Cider, and they pair so nicely together. The atmosphere is great, plenty of picnic tables, shade, and cool vibe, including vinyl records providing the music. Highly recommend.”

“You will be happily surprised stopping here! Ive had the pleasure to eat here several times. My favorite is close to a 5 star restaurant mixed fried seafood basket with Oysters, Shrimp and Catfish that is awesome. The steak fingers with bacon gravy is as good as it sounds. You can mix and match and have him add extra oysters or whatever you want. And if your any kind of a tipper you can sit next door in the beer garden and have your meal brought to your table. And, it’s all gluten free food but you wouldn’t know if you didn’t ask, well except for the gravy....he told me he wasn’t going there with the gravy because it was just too good to mess with.”

“Good food, homestyle country cooking, fair prices. I've eaten here at least once in the past. This is a well known restaurant at an intersection frequented by both travelers and locals. The menu has a wide selection of food of which contains the chicken fried steak. I've had many a person comment to me about eating here, so I decided to give it another try. The first time I visited it was early in the morning. This time it was lunch so we ordered 3 chicken fried steaks. Our order came out pretty quick and all the portions were plentiful. I ordered fried okra and mashed potatoes with mine. My only criticism was that all the food lacked salt and spices of any kind. The gravy seemed overly bland. After a bit of salt and pepper the flavor improved but I felt like it could have been better. Overall the meal was good, service was great, and portions were more than filling. But as far as being impressed, I felt it was just decent.”

“If you like decent Bourbon, then you definitely want to come here. Heck if you don't like bourbon you still want to come here for the very pleasant surroundings. A set of nice wooden cabin like structures are dotted amongst nice shady trees and well manicured grass. Parking and seating is plenty but can run at a premium depending on the time. Staff are friendly and whisky is interesting and soothing!”

“the subway had good food but I do have one complaint when I see the guy that is coming on to shift wearing no shoes and no shirt putting on his subway shirt because he looks like he's been up all night partying. but if I didn't see that prior to getting my food I would have had a completely different perception of the place. “Great, home cooked really GOOD food and friendly Texas service. There's live music on Fridays and Saturdays, draft beer, Texas wines, lavender lemonade and giant cookies. Always consistent, always delicious. Rainfall records posted on the walls from 1900 to almost present, and local art to boot. Just get there before 3:30 Monday through Thursday or you are out of luck.”

“Restaurant Recently Re-opened* Such a beautiful, historic building! We thoroughly enjoyed our Valentine's day lunch here. From the moment you step in the door, it's a great experience. We were greeted with hospitality that you don't always see anymore. The gentleman was excited about the building and was a pleasure to speak with about the plans for this Arts complex as well as his menu recommendations. We enjoyed the Duck Confit Egg Rolls with sweet chili dipping sauce, the Rueben sandwich and the Muffuletta. Each sandwich comes with your choice of Sweet potato, zucchini, regular fries or a petite salad. We had a very pleasant waiter and the server that brought the food was just as nice. I definitely look forward to seeing the theater re-open for performances and this beautiful center to be a vibrant spot in this sweet little town. A strange side note but worth mentioning... The bathrooms are definitely worth looking at. They are so unique!”

“My boyfriend and I stopped here on our way From Austin to dance at Twin Sisters. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the warmth of the service. The place has just been redone and the dining room is large and beautifully finished out. The menu actually includes a vegetarian section — an delightful find (for me, the vegetarian) since in small Texas towns, the closest thing you usually get to fine dining is a steak place, where I must content myself with a baked potato. I had the risotto, which could have been a little creamier for my taste, but was still good. My boyfriend had the chicken breast, which he said was delicious. (He cleaned his plate.) There were plenty of empty tables on Saturday night, so the restaurant remodel seems to anticipate Blanco becoming a destination, which would be nice since it’s a lovely, hill country town. Highly recommend.”
