“Very delicious food! I was so sad that they didn't have gumbo because that's what I stopped for because gumbo is my faaaav but everything else we ordered was delicious so that was a nice consolation prize, lol. VERY generous portions on all of our plates. My "red caddywampus" drink was really yummy too, very unique but in such a good way. We were all obsessed with the dog Whiskey and really wanted to take him home with us. 🤣 It was a nice cool overcast day so we really enjoyed eating on the patio but there is seating inside as well. Great service from the lady running the counter. ☺️ We will definitely come back for some gumbo when we are back in this area next year!!”

“Nice little food trailer. Biscuit was really good, sausage gravy tasted like the cook knew what they were doing (respectable chunks of sausage as well), the coffee unfortunately was barely warm (may bring my own coffee next time) Shady eating area under a big tree, two picnic tables (fixed benches) and several "spool" tables with bar stools”

“Coffee was really good (iced latte). Tea was too hot. Seems like the water temp is too high on that machine...? Flavor was good after letting it sit for a while. Breakfast from the Cast Iron Punk was very delicious!”

“Okay, so don't judge me too hard for saying so, but I personally believe that Krispy Krunchy chicken is some of the best fast food chicken that you can get. In my book, it's Popeye's, followed second by Krispy Kunchy, and then KFC, and then all others. (Sorry, Chick-fil-A fans!) And it's certainly the best gas station chicken that you can get! I get bonus points in the frequency in which I get to indulge because my wife agrees with me on this one! I was very happy to see that there was a location here in town when we arrived. As snowbirds, we never see a Krispy K up north so it's a bit of a treat! The woman working the counter was nice, just as you would expect in Central Texas. We happened to get there just at the perfect time for fresh chicken strips too! Another bonus. My only complaint, other than the obvious excess amount of salt that KK uses (still my fave), are this location's hours. They aren't very conducive to picking up dinner on the way home from work. I was told by an employee that the cook stops making the chicken at 3:00 p.m. and when they sell out, they sell out. If they don't sell out, they stop selling it at 5:00 p.m. So the hours that are listed here on Google currently are probably pretty accurate because they're likely sold out by 4:00 p.m. Sorta a lunch-thing only. Perhaps folks around here don't like this chicken as much as I do and it would be bad business to stay open an extra couple of hours. But I think a 7:00 p.m. closing time would be cool. In this nutty guy's opinion though, I'm just glad you decided to become a franchisee and sell their chicken! Thank you!”

“Absolutely loved this place! It's beautifully decorated, almost like you're at your best friend's drinking in the kitchen/living room chatting. They have excellent wines and delightful snacks. Also met the owners who were very friendly and fun to talk to. Pro-tip they have this amazing red wine that I think nearly everyone would love, Sweet Alexander. I usually love dry wines and my husband loves sweet wines, we both ended up enjoying this one a lot.”

“From the moment we checked in with Lindsay, we felt very welcome at Carter Creek. The accommodations were very comfortable and conveniently located to parking. We were able to bring our dog, CJ, and he was also very comfortable there - there were plenty of green spaces there for him. Kim was outstanding - she made sure all of our needs were met, and she introduced us to many on staff including Matt, the manager, and Justin, the brewer. Justin makes some awesome brews - he could easily sell these in any supermarket and should seriously consider doing this. The food/desserts at Carter Creek were also outstanding. The flavors were incredible! We also had live music on Friday night, and it was very good, as well. Overall, we highly recommend Carter Creek, and we hope to return soon.”

“Loved the food here! French toast was on another level!! The biscuits and gravy is best I’ve ever had 🤤 The owners were so friendly and took the time tell me about the menu options :) It’s right next to a coffee shop and the scenery was perfect for having a relaxing brunch/lunch with my friends. And they have breakfast tacos!! Can’t wait to visit again!!”

“Beautiful winery in the Texas Hill Country. If you want to try a great Texas wine, go to the Silver Dollar Winery. We stopped in and were delightfully surprised by the range of wines available. Our favorite was the Peacemaker, both my husband and I loved the smooth and flavorful wine. We'll be back!”

“Very friendly with good food and good service. The “plain jane” burger is huge and it was cooked perfectly. The chili is made with brisket and was very unique and tasty. I didn’t try the chicken fried steak, but it looked great. Their French fries were also very tasty, the kids ate every last one. I wasn’t impressed with the fried pickles, but everything else was very good. I would definitely come back here again.”

“You will be happily surprised stopping here! Ive had the pleasure to eat here several times. My favorite is close to a 5 star restaurant mixed fried seafood basket with Oysters, Shrimp and Catfish that is awesome. The steak fingers with bacon gravy is as good as it sounds. You can mix and match and have him add extra oysters or whatever you want. And if your any kind of a tipper you can sit next door in the beer garden and have your meal brought to your table. And, it’s all gluten free food but you wouldn’t know if you didn’t ask, well except for the gravy....he told me he wasn’t going there with the gravy because it was just too good to mess with.”

“Good food, homestyle country cooking, fair prices. I've eaten here at least once in the past. This is a well known restaurant at an intersection frequented by both travelers and locals. The menu has a wide selection of food of which contains the chicken fried steak. I've had many a person comment to me about eating here, so I decided to give it another try. The first time I visited it was early in the morning. This time it was lunch so we ordered 3 chicken fried steaks. Our order came out pretty quick and all the portions were plentiful. I ordered fried okra and mashed potatoes with mine. My only criticism was that all the food lacked salt and spices of any kind. The gravy seemed overly bland. After a bit of salt and pepper the flavor improved but I felt like it could have been better. Overall the meal was good, service was great, and portions were more than filling. But as far as being impressed, I felt it was just decent.”

“Food was delish. I had fish tacos and it had a nice big piece of fish in each of them. My Mom had the Cobb salad and it was big enough for 2 people and my Hubby had the chicken & waffles. All were nice portions and very tasty.”

“The food is very good. Though they were out of 4 different items on the menu and those ordering had to change their orders. The service is poor. They should have known what items were not available. The young ladies who wait tables spend their time chatting and do not pay attention to their tables. We ran out of drinks multiple times.”

“Delicious food and great service. Chef prepared meals made with care and thought. Inside feels like a high end bistro. The signature burger is perfection. The outside front and side are a bit noisy from the road. The rear patio has the feel of a neighbor's back yard, comphy and friendly. A place you'd spend the night eating and drinking with friends and family. My only complaint is food size. A perfect portion for a lady or average size guy. If like me you could last a hard winter, get a second delicious entree.”

“The Fat Boy Burger is probably the best hamburger I have ever eaten. Better than In N Out, better than Five Guys, better than Mighty Fine. You can spend MUCH more but you won't get a better burger. Curly fries are a perfect companion. Been there several times - consistently excellent.”

“We ordered the fajitas for two. Got the sides for the fajitas at least 5-10 mins before the fajitas then we had to wait for the tortillas and cheese before we could actually eat. By that time the rice and beans were cold. Never asked if we need a refill or how the food was. The food was great and I wish I could have rated higher hence the 3 stars. Service is everything in a restaurant one of the most important things for me personally. If you’re looking for good Mexican food they have it.”
