Beautiful decor, I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. I was expecting something different. Very tasteful setup. There wasn't a lot of options on the menu imo. Ordered the shrimp fondue as a starter, the bread was crisp, the fondue was good, it had a good bit of crawfish in it, not much shrimp. This would taste great over a bed of noodles. The mahi was blackened but it was too salty, the brussel was very good. It had a hint of sweetness, came with bacon pieces and Caramelized onions. The broccoli was soft but not much taste. The Og oyster wasn't really "og new Orleans" tasting. It was ok but I wouldn't consider it to be a taste of nola. It had alright flavor, probably won't order again. The Gulf shrimp platter had huge shrimps about the size of your center palm (I'm a chick @5'4). The small was a decent serving for a teenage.
This place is a hidden GEM! It doesn't look like much from the outside, but once you step into the place, you automatically feel transported to the oceanside (at least I did). It's been nicely renovated and upgraded from the places it used to be. We came here 2 days in a row because we had such a great experience the first time. Every dish we've tried, we liked! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the puffy tacos. I think it's my new favorite food! 😍 Also, on Monday, they had a special on Oysters ($1 each!). If you're in the area, you won't be disappointed-Check them out. Also, their PoBoy is delicious, and the bread is soft, which is a huge highlight for me!
PS- They serve brunch! The Tres Leches French toast is delicious
We went there after seeing the reviews. They just had their grand opening earlier this week. I’m so glad we ordered takeout because it was hot in the restaurant. The hostesses were nice and took our order. The decor was nice. We ordered the gulf flounder almondine with garlic mashed potatoes and oysters Rockefeller. The fish was flaky and very buttery. The oysters were cooked just right. We’ll try their other food next time.
Went back for dinner a few months later. Ordered their calamari, crab cakes, blackened mahi with asparagus and rice and additional crab with lemon butter. They’re all so delicious! Will come back to try their other menu items.
First time trying the restaurant. Greeted nicely by the hostess. Seated, and waited patiently for server, another server did the right thing and found who had our table. Once our server arrived, he made up for the delay, his personality was top notch! Our food was delicious and nicely prepared. The “dirty dozen” grilled oysters were a nice way to see what you like or don’t for your next visit. I had the grilled salmon and side of Brussels sprouts. My wife had the special, grilled drum. Our desert was bananas fosters. To sum up, worth trying, and communicate with the staff and manager, we need this to work out for the community. By the way the bartender made my wife’s dirty martini just perfect. See our pictures.
My new favorite spot. The Espresso Martinis are the best and the Tuna Poke Nachos are addicting. My girlfriends and I love the environment and ambiance. The servers and bartenders are knowledgeable and attentive and the General Manager is spot on to check that each table is happy. We celebrated my birthday there and have had several happy hour meet ups there and love it.
Thank you Hometown Seafood for being our new get away to dress up and have drinks, good food and a good time.
