“Great food awful sweet tea. Too many employees in the store. Like too many adults at the pool. No one watches the kids. I asked about the status of the tea was told that, “I don’t know, this is not my store.” The worker behind the lunch counter was mildly annoyed with a hint of contempt for their customers. We just want some food. Your feelings are not our business so don’t make it weird by projecting your current dissatisfied feelings to everyone that you interact with. What has happened to cordial customer service? Too much to ask? I would give one star for service but the people working the front registers restored some hope with their courteous service and prompt execution of their duties.”

“This is a hidden gem. Food is cooked fresh and comes out promptly. Clean facility and good amount of seating inside. Plenty of parking. Menu has a good variety. Do not serve alcohol, but BYOB. We enjoyed the dumplings fried as an appetizer, orange chicken and the pineapple fried rice. All very well done and would order again. Recommend you’d top by and try the new addition to the neighborhood.”

“If you are familiar with the Granite Shoals area you know we are sorely lacking for restaurants. My family was very excited to see a new proprietor take over the location right next to the convenience store where the Happy Cooker used to be, it's called The Hungry Dog Diner. We gave it a few weeks to shake all the new kinks out and went up tonight to grab a burger. It was extremely fresh, made to order and tasted wonderful. Like a backyard grilled burger that you would make for yourself if you wanted to take the time. The owner is very friendly and accommodating and mentioned he will be offering chicken sandwiches soon. Right now it's burgers and hot dogs (chili dogs!) and pulled pork. We will definitely go back and we hope he gets a lot of support. Check it out!”

“Purchased a one meat plate with 2 sides. The portion of meat in the picture speaks for itself. I had 5 bites and it was gone. The meat vs sides is way out of portion, 20 bites of sides vs 5 bites of meat. I asked for moist cut, unfortunately there was spots where it was very dry and spots where it was very moist. The BBQ sauce was overpowering and masked the entire flavor of the brisket. The coleslaw was fresh and crunchy but didn't have any unique flavors to set it apart from the normal. The potato salad was creamy and delicious. All in all I would say it's good but not great.”

“Overall we enjoyed our day. The service and food was good. Quite a bit of the arcade games were out of service, but we enjoyed the ones we did play. Bowling was fun but I heard the floors were very slippery so I was cautious. The putt putt was a nice course, however I really hope they put mulch over the rock because the putting area was filled with the rocks and made it hard to get the ball where you wanted it to go.”

“Okay, one thing to note here is this restaurant just opened a month ago, so there are some starting pains for sure. My review is an honest one because I hope people do still give them a try. Pros: The location isn't bad, the hours are good, the server was very attentive, the menu selections are not overwhelming, and I love that they had options I've never seen before. A salmon quesadilla?? Who knew! I actually tried this and it wasn't too bad. Definitely has an acquired taste and could use a bit more salt, but it was okay. Cons: The catfish nuggets were a bit on the mushy side. From the outside, they looked cooked thoroughly, but they weren't. I politely informed the waiter and they were able to fry them a little longer. The seasoning was great though, so I guess it's a partial con. This is another partial con, but they could use some work on the interior design. It's pretty bland. I'm sure as they get more business and more money in, things will get better.”

“I had the Citrus Salmon, and it was really good. Our table also had the Shrimp Ravioli and they really liked that as well. They actually grill the shrimp a bit - unlike the other guys in town. We did order cheese-sticks as an appetizer, but they were just okay. So glad to see another option in town for Italian. I do wish entrees would come with a salad or at least an add-on for $2 instead of $4.99. We will be returning to try other dishes.”
