Good Union Urban BBQ

This is normally a GREAT place during lunch. But I went during dinner time (around 7pm on a Wednesday) and the service was extremely slow and sloppy. The young man behind the counter couldnt even take my order due to the fact that he was all in the next person order. I understand helping customers make choices with the menu but not when you have a customer in front of you. I had to repeat certain parts of my order 3 times. However the place is really good so I'll just stick to lunch time orders.

I've eaten here several times since moving to Richardson and find it quite good for a place in the city. The margaritas are strong, and the added flavors are delicious. Any of the happy hour foods are worth getting, but my personal favorite is #5 Big Turk.

The loaded brisket fries on happy hour are amazing. Highly recommend both them and their jalapeno cornbread. The brisket is good, but the sauce needs more of a kick. Still a favorite of family and friends. Excellent service and laid back atmosphere.

The food and drink are quite good. If you can get it. Manager is always too busy talking to her friends.

I visited this restaurant for the first time with my daughter. A waitress always looking for a high chair and she went to the back and brought one to us without asking. The menu is a bit cryptic. You go into this restaurant thinking that you're getting barbecue. However the menu only features salads and sandwiches so you think that is your only choice. However a bit more research shows that they will also sell barbecue meat, so you can ask for a plate of brisket or sausage or something like that. But it is not readily apparent on the menu that is over the order area. The food was good and the barbecue sauce is in squeeze bottles on the table. Not a lot of vegetable choices unfortunately. Parking might be a bit of a challenge during the busy time of the day but there is a parking garage directly next door to the restaurant, so you should probably be able to park in there if you can't find a space on the street. There are not really any diet soft drink choices from the fountain. Most of the soft drinks feature pure cane sugar. The only non-sweetened drinks would be iced tea or water. Still, it is a good meal and is in a nice area. It also features nice outdoor seating if you're in the mood to eat out in the fresh air.
